Owl Crate is a monthly subscription of books and bookish items. Each OwlCrate contains one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to the monthly theme. OwlCrate always sends the best items to go along with their theme with the hottest new books out there.

July’s OwlCrate theme is Strange & Unusual. OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

I love opening up this box.  Not only is the outside themed but the inside is also done. There is so much fun in here.  Hoot Hoot!

Everything in my July OwlCrate box.

In addition to the information card, we now get a booklet with more info and a pin with the theme represented.

We get interviews with the author and some of the suppliers of the extra items, a sneak peek of the next OwlCrate and a comparison of the exclusive cover versus the regular cover. I’m loving this month’s exclusive cover with the pop of yellow!

The book comes in a plastic bag each month and the exclusive cover sticker is on the outside of the bag. I take the sticker off the bag and place it on the inside sleeve of the jacket. This way I will always know why the book looks different then what I can see online if I was to go to look.

My Plain Jane ($14.39) – I’m a huge Supernatural fan so anytime a book goes into the paranormal I’m a sucker. This one brings in the love of the classic Jane Eyre and mixes it up with the new love of all things spooky. I just want to curl up and dig right in.

You may think you know the story. Penniless orphan Jane Eyre begins a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall, where she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester—and, Reader, she marries him. Or does she?

Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions, in which all is not as it seems, a certain gentleman is hiding more than skeletons in his closets, and one orphan Jane Eyre, aspiring author Charlotte Bronte, and supernatural investigator Alexander Blackwood are about to be drawn together on the most epic ghost hunt this side of Wuthering Heights.

The book also came with a note from the author.

To go along with the book we get a Diorama of Thornfield Hall. I’m always mesmerized but the huge expansive manors and homes of days gone by. How in the world did they manage to take care of it all with the available amenities?

So much detail in the design. I’m going to have fun coloring this in and assembling it.

Show your spirit with all things Peculiar with this fun pennant. It will be great to hang in my room or a locker. Inspired by Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children I don’t think you get much more Strange and Unusual then that.

I am so behind the game on this one but I just started watching Stranger Things and I’m hooked already. I’m always up for keychains and adding the Funko POP funness in any box is spectacular.

It has been a while since I’ve pulled out my Ouija board. It was a staple of slumber parties back in the day and they are tons of fun. These mints are tasty and will be fun to pull out when I’m hanging with my girls.

Oh my gosh these are spooktacular. OwlCrate designed some exclusive skull push pins and put them in a test tube sealed with a little owl cap. How freaking cute are these from the packaging right into the skull. They sent so many my office corkboard is going to be the highlight of the office.

A new to me item in this month’s Owl Crate. Reverie and Ink designed this exclusive wallet to make us all an honorary Raven Boy.

The hard cased wallet has plenty of slots and pockets on the inside. I was also excited to see the wristlet strap so that I can take this with me for a night out.

Luna Lovegood is a blast when she is on screen or in the book. She is wise beyond her years but brings a lightness and hope to the series. This vinyl sticker was created by TJ Lubrano and reminds me of Rainbow Brite but I think that is the perfect comparison for Luna.

Another exclusive item in this months box. Strange and Unusual doesn’t have to just mean spooky. This whale of a print was created just for OwlCrate by Aun-Juli Riddle. The watercoloring and books make it whaley appealing. Sorry I couldn’t resist.

What a unusual Owl Crate box this month.  All in a great way and fully themed with lots of great items. There were so many exclusive items in here they will be fun to represent. The push pins while such a small item are what really make me just smile this month. They are going to be such a conversation starter on my cork board.  OwlCrate always does the best with not only the large items but really rounds out the box with all the great little goodies mixed in.
