We ordered all smoothies for this order!

DEAL: Save $25 on your first 6-cup box! Use this link and coupon code HELLOSUB to subscribe.

All the items are wrapped using an aluminum foil surrounded by dry ice to keep the food fresh.

The containers are arranged alternately and in upside down position.

The box also includes a two-fold card.

Inside the card is a welcome note and a promo for subscribers.

We also got a cute magnet sheet!

Dry ice is extremely cold and, if not properly handled, can cause cold burns. Keep this away upon unpacking!

Everything in my box! All of the Daily Harvest meals are packed in waxed paper containers with plastic lids, so you can use them as to-go cups and stick in a straw. The lids are color-coded based on what kind of meal they are. Straight up smoothies have black lids, and that’s what we chose for our first box.

We used unsweetened almond milk to blend most of these smoothies and each of them have a suggested milk to use right on the container. We used Califia Farms toasted coconut flavor coconut & almond milk on the chai and coconut smoothie – couldn’t resist that pairing, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk in our mint and cacao smoothie.

All of the smoothies make two servings, with some as low as 70-100 calories before adding your milk, with some of the richer ones tipping the scales at 250 per serving (hello dessert!).

Mint + Cacao Smoothie. Chlorella, a single-celled green algae, is combined with cacao nibs. It tastes great and it works as a shield for your body from damaging compounds such as heavy metals and other environmental toxins.

Ingredients
organic bananas, organic spinach, organic cacao nibs, organic cashew butter, water, organic peppermint (organic sunflower oil, organic peppermint oil), organic chlorella (cracked cell), vanilla bean

Look at the beautiful green color! It’s so energizing, definitely an ideal post-work-out drink.

I love how it turned out really creamy too. It’s like a healthier version of a mint chip ice cream! The flavors were well balanced and really delicious.

Strawberry + Peach Smoothie. A classic blend, this combination of strawberry and peach is sweet, fruity, and satisfying. It also contains oats and flax seeds, which provide fiber to keep you full all day.

A cup cover is also provided to ensure that the ingredients are safe and secured all time. You can drink your smoothies from the glass or pour right back in. The lids are recyclable, but the cups aren’t in most areas. I don’t think they can be composted either, because I didn’t find any reference to that on their site.

Ingredients
organic strawberries, organic bananas, organic peaches (ascorbic acid and citric acid added to prevent oxidation), organic raspberries, organic whole-grain gluten free rolled oats, organic golden flax seed, organic goji berries

So yummy!

This smoothie is dominated by strawberry and peaches that results in its pinkish color. It’s a superb morning drink to boost your immune system and rejuvenate your body! You could definitely taste the nice nutty background of the oats as you sip!

It’s like breakfast and dessert rolled into one. So satisfying yet so guilt-free with its low sugar and low carb content.

It is reminiscent of a frozen chai latte, only healthier!

How creamy! It’s a nice drink after a long day at work and it was pretty much like pumpkin pie flavoring in a smoothie. This was my favorite of the bunch.

Dragon Fruit + Lychee Smoothie. This smoothie blend is just perfect for summer, as it combines sweet, tangy, and tropical flavors. It’s rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, so it boosts your immune system and keeps your skin healthier and brighter too.

Ingredients

So red and fruity! It smells fantastic too.

I like its pink color. This blend also provides digestive support and boosts the immune system!

The flavor of chocolate and blueberry really dominates this smoothie, it’s so tasty and making it feel more like a dessert.

This smoothie is so thick and creamy, similar to a dark chocolate tart. The flavors were really rich – and we found that wasn’t unusual for all of the Daily Harvest meals. Even doubled up this wouldn’t kill your calories for the day, and with the double dose of antioxidants from blueberry and chocolate, who can say no?

Apple + Greens Smoothie. Known as a detox smoothie, this smoothie is packed with dark leafy greens, citrus, and celery. It even has turmeric and ginger which aids in blood circulation and anti-inflammation.

Ingredients
organic apples (ascorbic acid, citric acid & salt antioxidants), organic cucumbers, organic celery, organic kale, organic spinach, ginger, organic lemon juice, organic turmeric root

So light and refreshing!

It’s a well-balanced green smoothie! No weird taste, just a crisp and filling smoothie – super refreshing!

I’m quite pleased with the smoothies from Daily Harvest! It’s our first try, and everything was great – from the freshness to the taste to the health benefits, and even the ease of preparation. These smoothies are fantastic! They’re not just for breakfast but for any other time of the day when you need a boost. Also, all the smoothies are made using all organic, high-quality ingredients. We’ve actually already tried several of their other meals – including the bowls & sundaes – and we found they were incredibly filling, delicious, and superhealthy, just like the smoothies. They are definitely on the pricey side but if you don’t have a smoothie shop or just downright need the convenience of having everything available and ready to go, they’re well-priced and on par with other smoothie subscriptions.

One of the things we noticed is that these smoothies were easy to blend (we did use a Vitamixsee more info on that here) – the chunks are small and easy to grind up and if you set your smoothie out (or carry it to work so you can attack it with a stick or bullet blender) it will make blending even easier. All the ingredients were uniform and in perfect condition. One of our later boxes (sundae reviews coming soon!) the box was delayed a day in hot weather and Daily Harvest made it up to us by reshipping, so we’re also happy with their customer service. We loved selecting our smoothies based on both their flavors and functional aspects and our best advice is if you want a lighter smoothie, stick with the lower calorie ones. If you want a rich smoothie dessert replacement, go for the ones that are heavy on the calorie side. We think a mix of green, fruity, and chocolate smoothies is perfect for our bunch!
