This book sounds exciting and adventurous, I can’t wait to dive into a new world. The story sounds like it’s going to combine all of my favorite things, strong female characters, a web of lies to untangle and perhaps a mystery or two. I will admit the picture in my head of the bloodthirsty guardsmen make me super excited to read this book. I’m sure it will be a nice weekend read that I might be able to share with my daughter.

I don’t know much about the Roman empire but this historical fantasy book looks like a fun read that might just help me understand more about history. I love that the author isn’t rearranging history just making it a bit more fun and magical. My daughter read the synopsis and then ran away with the book, she informs me that it’s wonderful and I will get my turn to read it when she’s done.
Sci-fi is getting more and more exciting for me. I used to think it was just for children but now I am becoming a true fan. I have found that the books with a little more tangled webs intrigue me most. I’m loving getting to share these books with my daughter and being more open to a world she also likes. It’s making the teenage years a lot more bearable.
