Owl Crate is a monthly subscription of books and bookish items. Each OwlCrate contains one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to the monthly theme. OwlCrate always sends the best items to go along with their theme with the hottest new books out there.

June’s OwlCrate theme is Summer Lovin’. OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

Everything in my June OwlCrate box.

The Informational booklet has become a staple in the boxes.

We get interviews with the author and some of the suppliers of the extra items, a sneak peek of the next OwlCrate and a comparison of the exclusive cover versus the regular cover. I’m loving this month’s exclusive cover with the pop of yellow!

The book comes in a plastic bag each month and the exclusive cover sticker is on the outside of the bag. I take the sticker off the bag and place it on the inside sleeve of the jacket. This way I will always know why the book looks different then what I can see online if I was to go to look.

From Twinkle, With Love ($15.19) – This book sounds like a sure-fire poolside read. Some sweat summer romance without being too mushy and sappy. How often is romance not what is expected but what it turns out to be awesome? This is a great story with unexpected loves.

Aspiring filmmaker and wallflower Twinkle Mehra has stories she wants to tell and universes she wants to explore, if only the world would listen. So when fellow film geek Sahil Roy approaches her to direct a movie for the upcoming Summer Festival, Twinkle is all over it. The chance to publicly showcase her voice as a director? Dream come true. The fact that it gets her closer to her longtime crush, Neil Roy—a.k.a. Sahil’s twin brother? Dream come true x 2.

When mystery man “N” begins emailing her, Twinkle is sure it’s Neil, finally ready to begin their happily-ever-after. The only slightly inconvenient problem is that, in the course of movie-making, she’s fallen madly in love with the irresistibly adorkable Sahil.

Twinkle soon realizes that resistance is futile: The romance she’s got is not the one she’s scripted. But will it be enough?

Told through the letters Twinkle writes to her favorite female filmmakers, From Twinkle, with Love navigates big truths about friendship, family, and the unexpected places love can find you.

The book also came with a note from the author.

Did you notice I again didn’t include a signed bookplate in my extras this month? That is because OwlCrate is now sending autographed books! While they aren’t saying it will be this way every month we have gotten them the last couple of months.

I’m getting ready to pack for the beach so this Microfiber Towel designed by Stella Bookish Art could not have come at a better time.  I’m all about a microfiber towel and I love how lightweight and large this one is. Let’s not forget to mention how stinkin’ cute the design is and that saying is so perfect.

I’m living down in NC so a mason jar is totally a part of our summer drinkware.  This is a super fun mason jar mug designed exclusively for OwlCrate by Michelle Gray. I’m a glass drinking girl so that I can be sure my drinks get as cold as possible so getting a glass mason jar is very different and unique.

The saying on the mug says “Bookworm and Proud.” Perfect for my OwlCrate box!

Owlcrate even takes the theme all the way through the packaging. When they send breakable items in the box they are most often in their own box to help protect them a bit more and the back has all the information needed for the mug.

What goes better on a hot summer day then an iced tea in our mason jar mug! Of course, OwlCrate thought of everything and included a scrumptious apple flavored tea from Riddle’s Tea Shoppe and Curiosities.

I love getting bookmarks in a book box. They go together like peanut butter and jelly.  This is a fun twist on a regular bookmark in that it’s a wooden bookmark from Ink and Wonder Designs. I’m also a rubber stamper and scrapbooker and this bookmark looks like a scene I could create for one of my cards or pages. I think that makes me love it even more.

I couldn’t help but put this collection of little extras together. They don’t necessarily go together but they were just so cute together I couldn’t resist. First up is a succulent pen. I’m always jotting notes and ideas so I go through pens quickly. This one is just so cute.  Next up we got a keychain to go along without a book this month. And finally, we get this month’s themed pin. We get a themed pin each month from OwlCrate.

The Succulent pen just makes me smile. Succulents are all the rage right now so having a cute little pen to go with them is all the inspiration I’m going to need to get the creative juices going.

I couldn’t wait to get this month’s Owl Crate box once I saw the theme. My all-time favorite movie is Grease so getting a Summer Lovin’ theme really piqued my interest and Owl Crate disappoints. I’m obsessed with the towel and the mason jar mug this month. They are items that fit perfectly in with the box but are so unexpected they really make the box for me. The book this month sounds perfect for summer reading and I can’t wait to lay on my towel and dive into Twinkle’s story.
