My May Blind Date books, The Big Fix by Linda Grimes and Touch of Evil by CT Adams & Cathy Clamp This month I got one hardback book and one paperback book.

The books are listed on the back of the bookmark with a little quote or blurb about the book.

The Big Fix by Linda Grimes ($12.12)- Paranormal and procedural and movie stars all wrapped up in one! I can’t wait to dig in. I like that this is a new premise for me with an aura working in the real world but getting sucked into a crime. It sounds like it would make a great tv show but you know that the books are always better so I’m going to pull this one out for summer fun reading at the pool.

Linda Grimes’s sexy and hilarious urban fantasy series that began with In a Fix and Quick Fix continues in The Big Fix.

Aura adaptor extraordinaire Ciel Halligan, who uses her chameleon-like abilities to fix her clients’ problems–as them–is filling in on set for action superstar Jackson Gunn, whose snake phobia is standing in the way of his completing his latest mega-millions Hollywood blockbuster. There’s only one thing Jack fears more than snakes, and that’s the possibility of his fans finding out he screams at the sight of one. Going from hero to laughing stock isn’t part of his career plan.Seems like a simple enough job to Ciel, who doesn’t particularly like snakes, but figures she can tolerate an afternoon with them, for the right price–which Jack is offering, and then some. What she doesn’t count on is finding out that while she was busy wrangling snakes for him, his wife was busy getting killed. When Ciel goes to break the sad news to the star, she finds out Jack was AWOL from her client hideaway at the time of the murder.

Ciel begins to suspect Jack’s phobia was phony, and that he only hired her to provide him with an alibi–but if she goes to the police, she’ll have to explain how she knows he wasn’t really on set. Up against a wall, Ciel calls on her best-friend-turned-love-interest Billy, and her not-so-ex-crush Mark, to help her set up the sting of a lifetime.

Touch of Evil by CT Adams & Cathy Clamp ($16.95)- Some of my favorite paranormal creatures are vampires. They always have such and allure to them. It pretty much started with The Lost Boys and kept going through Twilight and even still.  While the vampires appear to be the bad guys in this book they are pulling in the ever so sexy werewolves as the good guys and I can’t wait to find out more!

The alien vampires known as the Thrall classify most humans as Prey, save for a few who survive the bite of the parasite. People like Kate Reilly, whose latent psychic powers were activated by the vampire’s venom when she was attacked a few years ago. Kate is Not Prey, and safe.

Or is she? The Thrall Queen intends to make Kate her successor, despite Kate’s hatred of the vampires.

All is not bleak in Kate’s world. Her downstairs neighbor, Tom, is a hunky firefighter who arouses her senses…including the ones that tell her he’s not human. Tom’s a werewolf―and his pack knows how to protect Kate from the Thrall Queen. The problem? The last time Kate trusted a man she loved, he betrayed her to the Thrall and nearly got her killed.

Action, adventure, romance, and thrills―everything readers want from the USA Today bestselling authors who are also Cat Adams, creator of the Blood Singer series―are all on display in Touch of Evil.

BookCase.Club sends two new books to me each month. They can be any combination of hardback and paperback books but they are always new to me from authors that I already love and others I’ve never heard of yet. I love getting books to read sent right to me each month that I can just dig into and not have to search for. I get a bit overwhelmed at the bookstore with all the books to choose from and BookCase.club makes that easy for me and sends my preferred genre all ready to go.
