The Target Art & Craft Kit is a monthly art & craft subscription for kids ages 6-10. You’ll receive a different pre-packaged crafting activity each month shipped from Target for $14.99.

Like the previous months, we received a single commercially available craft kit. It arrived much like an Amazon package does ship in a larger cardboard box with bubble packs.

TIPS: Use your Target Red Card for a discount. Plus, be sure to subscribe to the kit for an additional 5% off!

Finding Dory Aquabeads Playset ($24.95) Aimed to unleash kids’ creativity, Aquabeads is a water-activated bead craft product ideal for children ages 4 and up.

The sides of the box feature different kinds of Finding Dory character images you can create using the beads. This side shows Nemo and Dory…

…while the other shows Marlin and Hank.

The box also lists all the items included in this playset.

Everything came neatly packaged.

Everything in this set! It includes beads, templates, spray bottle, tray, table, bead pen, and a bead palette.

It also came with an easy to follow instruction pamphlet.

The kids are really excited to try this activity out. They first read through the instructions and prepared the necessary materials.

There are several templates you can easily follow.

The palette and the design table can be attached to form a nice compartment of all the beads when not in use. I guess we can still reuse this one when the beads are all used up.

The sprayer, on the other hand, looks like a cute cosmetic container, like a lipstick holder. Fill it up with water, screw the cap back, then tilt it and squeeze to use on your project.

The blue bead pen looks cute too! It is really easy to use. Just press it on the beads to load it up, and to use it on the tray, press the button to release the beads on to it.

There are 6 solid bead colors and 5 jewel beads in this set.

They’re all looking great when transferred to the palette.

To start with the project, my daughter has chosen the Dory template to bead-up. She then slid the template into the grooves at the back of the layout tray, making sure that the beads are aligned with the indents of the tray. Then she places the tray on top of the design table.

She started picking up the beads with the bead pen.

We can see in this photo that she’s picking up a solid white bead.

And she started laying the beads out on the tray, following the colors on the template.

The activity requires a lot of patience on putting the beads one by one on the indents.

Dory is taking shape!

My daughter is taking this activity more seriously than I thought, she’s really concentrating on finishing this one up.

After finishing the beads, she sprayed her art with water and let it dry for an hour. Here’s the fantabulous Dory, all beaded up and just waiting to get dry!

The kids also tried to bead-up Nemo, and here he is to accompany his friend Dory!

Once the beads dried up, you can take off the bead design from the tray and let it stand on its own.

We love this month’s pick from Target Art & Craft! My kids had fun making the bead designs. The instructions were easy to follow, and they also found it fulfilling to see the characters take shape. The activity also tests their patience with picking and placing the beads both on the tray and the palette, so I can say it is a good practice as well. This subscription is an awesome way of developing and improving the artistic traits of the kids, so we’re really looking forward to it every month!
