The packaging and design of Julep products are sleek. I also like how the colors of the nail lacquers pop up and shine in contrast with the black packaging.
Julep Skip The Brush Creme To Powder Blush Stick ($24) Up close, it is very shiny and I haven’t even swatched it yet. It can make your skin luminous because of the ultrafine pearls in the formula. The stick can be applied to cheeks, eyes. and even lips! It is different because even though it is creme, it settles with a matte powdery finish when you apply it.
Here’s the swatch! It has a rich rosy bronze color that will definitely glow. You can dot it on your cheeks and blend with your fingers, no brushes needed. You can also use it as a highlighter, eyeshadow, blush, or bronzer. It is travel-friendly and perfect for your fuss-free active lifestyle. It applies so smoothly!
Julep Nail Lacquer In Sam ($14) It looks fruity to me. I remember all the tropical fruits of summer with this color. The swatch is a rich lime green that can suit any skin color. I say this because I think it doesn’t matter what your skin color is, you just have the guts to flaunt it. That is the goal of Julep here.
Julep Nail Lacquer In Tenaya ($14) It is vibrant marigold creme color and I like it! The pigment is on point, it is not streaky and patchy. It dries out fast so it’s perfect if you are in a hurry. It has a vegan-friendly formula that includes antioxidants and has an innovative Oxygen Technology that strengthens and makes the nails healthy.
Well, the nail lacquers tryouts are not perfect but they do have hip and trendy bold colors. Very summery. If you are feeling out there, you can even alternately combine those two colors just like what I did. They have buildable pigment and has a thick consistency that just covers the nails entirely.
I’m all for the bright and confident theme this month. With the striking colors of nail lacquers and the blinding blush stick they gave me in this box, it does encourage me to make bold choices. Though they are not my usual colors, and people will probably ask me what’s going on if I put them all together, Julep makes it exciting every month. It doesn’t hurt to be different once in a while and in a way it also feels empowering!
