This month, I received the seventh and final installment of the “On the Run” mystery. In “On the Run,” you play the part of the amateur detective solving a mystery in which your childhood friend goes missing after being accused of murdering his wealthy fiancée. As usual, everything is top-notch, from the real stationary to the newsprint to the extremely edible chocolate bar. There are lots of cross-references and internet clues to chase down this month.
Inside, the box contains a variety of physical clues–fewer this month than usual as we narrow down on the end of this seven-month-long puzzle. You’ll need your earlier boxes to help you with this one.
Among the physical clues, you will find internet hints that will send you to the computer to locate more clues. Those Van Kresses sure were into a lot of stuff. Make sure you check the note on the back of the bank statement.
Your detective helper from the Bailey Detective Agency bought in some critical information this month. I hope he’s okay…
As usual, if you get stuck, you can access the clever hint system through the Bailey Detective Agency, where you can ask questions and receive an actual (non-form) email back. It adds a fun layer of authenticity to the game. Also adding authenticity? Tasty chocolate treats. That doesn’t seem to be a company I’ve heard of before, though… what could that mean?
It took us a bit longer than usual this month, but we got it! A very satisfying conclusion to a really fun series. We can’t wait to try another one soon.
