The Target Art & Craft Kit is a monthly art & craft subscription for kids ages 6-10. You’ll receive a different pre-packaged crafting activity each month shipped from Target for $14.99.

Like the previous months, we received a single commercially available craft kit.

It arrived much like an Amazon package does ship in a larger cardboard box with bubble packs.

TIPS: Use your Target Red Card for a discount. Plus, be sure to subscribe to the kit for an additional 5% off!

Crayola Marker Maker + Wacky Tips ($19.99) It’s a fun DIY marker kit that allows you to mix your own colors and give them whatever name you want!

This info sheet lists all the items inside the box.

The box contains 3 ink bottles in primary colors: blue, yellow and red. There’s also a mixing chart.

These are 16 marker part sets that includes barrels, labels, cores, tips, caps, and plugs.

The set also includes 2 measuring tubes and the maker’s handle.

They even provided 2 marker boxes for easy storage of the finished markers, and labels to give names to the colors you made!

Here’s the marker maker!

Another inclusion is the tweezer, which allows you to easily handle the markers.

Everything in the kit!

It’s like an art and science project in one, and it got my kids really excited – especially my 9 year old!

The kit is pretty easy to use. Most of all, it encourages creative thinking. For younger kids, it’s also a great way of teaching them about colors.

My daughter really enjoyed making her own markers! She used the included chart to mix the colors, then followed the direction to place the mixture inside the marker infusing tubes.

Here she is, transferring her mixed color to the marker core.

It takes some time for the core to absorb all the ink.

In this photo, you can see that the core is full, as it already absorbed most of the measured ink.

Now, she transfers the core inside the barrel.

She also attached the wacky tip to complete her very own marker!

Oh, that tip is so wacky.

The wacky tip draws amazing waves!

It was exciting to see the colors she came up with!

The carrying case looks really organized. There are slots for the ink, the empty markers, and all the other materials. There’s also a designated space where you can mix the colors, so it’ll be less messy!

Here are some of her already labeled markers inside the box. The box is in black and white, but you can color it to make it more personalized.

The others are waiting to be labeled. This set lets you make 16 custom-made markers, with 8 colors in one box.

Here are the finished markers!

Of course, the kids came up with customized names for the markers. The kit allowed for quite a bit more creativity than I expected. The swatches of the colors they came up with are on the paper above.

They based some names from fruits, and nature!

My kids also tried different ways to use and write with the the wacky tips!

They did a great job! They were able to come up with their own color mixes and color names! We can make another set, and with such creative minds, I bet they still have lots of ideas!

DIY projects are always a great experience, especially for the kids as it teaches some important lessons about creative thinking and even problem solving. This month’s kit was enjoyed immensely, and nothing will go to waste since they can also use the finished markers for other arts and crafts activities. Whether your kid is just starting to appreciate arts or is already inclined towards these kinds of creative stuff, Target Art and Craft would give them something new and awesome to look forward to every month! It hasn’t always been the best value, but it’s something different!
