We have the theme spoilers for the May 2018 Scribbler Box! Scribbler is a subscription box for writers – created by authors, for authors.

Scribbler was created by bestselling authors Lindsay Cummings and Victoria Scott. Scribbler is designed to help writers do the three most important things: stay motivated, improve their craft, and connect with the right publishing professionals. Inside each box, you’ll find–

  • A Monthly Writing Theme (ex. Plot, Characters, Dialogue)
  • New Release Fiction Novel (Adult, Young Adult, and Middle Grade selections)
  • Collectible ‘Writing Passport’ from the Featured Author (Teaching you how to master that month’s theme)
  • An Invitation to Communicate with a Publishing Professional (ex. private Skype chat with that novel’s editor)
  • Curated Writerly Gifts

The theme for May is Fight Scenes!

That’s right, Scribblers. May is all about writing those epic fight scenes/action scenes in a story. No matter the genre you write in, this is going to be a crucial lesson for all of us on how to keep the perfect balance of internal VS external thoughts/actions during these scenes. Some of you may be thinking, “But, I write cozy mysteries. I don’t have any fight scenes!” Oh, but you do, Scribbler, you do! Not all fights have to be physical. Sometimes words hurt worse than fists ever could.

May’s box will give you tons of awesome insight on this topic (and the chosen author to dive into this has really nailed it on the head with a killer lesson…we’ve already received a sneak peek into May’s writing passport, and it’s going to be a good one.)

What do you think of this month’s Scribbler spoilers?
