The contents are neatly packaged in a yellow tissue paper.

The box is full of colorful and curly squiggles!

Everything in my box!

Owl Post Books Referral Cards. If you got bookish friends, you can make a referral by giving them these cards. And if you’re able to refer 3 friends, or they name you as referral, you get a free book on your next Imagination Box!

Telescope. Each box from this book subscription includes a toy or item that is in line with the book’s theme. This month, they included a blue toy telescope!

A telescope is used to observe objects from afar, like celestial objects, and one is the Moon!

Crayola Crayons ($0.99) A box of basic colored crayons is also included. Crayola Crayons have the colors that most generations grew up with, they’re simply classics!

The kids usually starts with the 8 color set that includes blue, green, red, yellow, orange, black, brown and violet. You can make the colors of the rainbow!

Penelope Crumb Is Mad At The Moon By Shawn K. Stout ($2.34)

Penelope Crumb is not having a very good week. First she accidentally comes to school dressed as an elephant (dress like an animal day is next week), and then in gym class she’s forced to square dance. With a boy who is known as Lippy Gordon because of how sweaty his lip is. All the time. Penelope is mortified. And then is extra mortified when she discovers that Lippy doesn’t want to dance with her either!

When Grandpa tells Penelope that he sings to the moon when he’s having trouble, Penelope grabs onto this plan. But sometimes you need more than the moon to fix things.

Another sweet and funny Penelope book. Equal parts humor and heart, this is a character not to be missed. Perfect for fans of Ramona Quimby, Judy Moody and Clementine, and for fans who have just outgrown Junie B. Jones and Katie Kazoo.

The inside flap of this hardbound book let’s you have a peek at what Penelope, the main character, is up to!

The story is accompanied by black and white illustrations. This is a good read aloud title that focuses on self-esteem.

Amos And The Moon By Jan B. Balet ($15.18)

Chock-full of charm and whimsy, this 1948 title tells a simple, endearing tale of a curious little lad on his search for the moon come daylight. As the first picture book by author and illustrator Jan Balet, the imaginative illustrations and lovely storytelling of AMOS AND THE MOON mark the beginning of a lengthy and successful career for the German-American artist.
Originally intended as a Christmas present for his son, Balet’s book became a gift to many more children; and now in its reissue edition, this vintage title will surely delight a new generation of young readers worldwide.

The book is a reissue edition of a 1948 children’s classic by author/illustrator Jan Balet. He first intended to make the book to just gift it to his son, however, the book became a gift for many children!

The book is about Amos, who is searching for the moon. It has full color illustrations that really captured the attention of my kids.

Papa Please Get The Moon For Me By Eric Carle ($6.99)

Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me

In this unique and delightful picture book, the story literally unfolds as pages open dramatically, extending both outward and upward. Monica wants the moon to play with, so her Papa sets out to get it for her. It isn’t easy to climb all the way up to the moon, but he finally succeeds — only to find that the moon is too big to carry home! The way in which this problem is solved is a joyful surprise.

Here is a multi-faceted story that appeals to children visually, verbally and emotionally, and which also contains a first lesson in natural history, depicting the eternal cycle of the waxing and waning of the moon. The simple text, just right for reading aloud or for the beginning reader expresses perfectly the purity of a father’s love for his child. Small readers will empathize with Monica”s longing for the moon, and will be reassured by her father’s willingness to try to make her wish come true. And, on a deeper level, they will recognize that Papa is not merely fulfilling Monica’s whim, but is demonstrating to her that even a seemingly unreachable goal can actually be attained. Papa, Please Get the Moon for Me is a book to be re-read many times, and to be treasured for its beauty and its positive message of love and inspiration.

Any book by Eric Carle is a true classic!

This one also has bigger pictures than the amount of text, so it’s visually stimulating.

With a few texts and colored illustrations, it’s an effective book that helps stimulate the kids’ imagination.

There’s even a folded-up page that features the moon and the stars!

My 7 year old used the included crayons to color the box – it was a super calming activity for him and got him in the mood to read some books. I loved that little touch.

The kids definitely love the titles on this box, and the theme is brilliant as well. Our first box from Owl Post Books is such a hit! My son, who is a bit of a reluctant reader, loved the stories and he was really happy to add them to his shelf. The telescope is the perfect accompanying toy to search out the moon too! And the crayons will be very useful, as my kids love to draw and color!

The thing we liked best is that while the moon was the motif, other themes played a strong part in drawing the books together, like family and confidence. It’s a must try subscription to get the kids love reading more and improve their comprehension, and also have a great family story-telling and bonding time!
