Everything in my box!
So far, everything looks good. The packaging and design of Julep products are cohesive. I also like how the colors of the nail lacquers pop up and shine in contrast with the black packaging.
Julep Way Butter Hydrating Lip Sheer In Sangria ($20) I’m happy that Julep decided to bring back their hydrating lip sheer line. They improved it with a new buttery formula and even developed 10 new shades of it. I got it in Sangria, which is a deep red shade.
I love the sleek design. It does look expensive, while the formula itself is well-pigmented. Upon applying, I felt the buttery goodness they mentioned in the card. It applies smoothly on my lips and has a nice red sheer. It also softened my chapped lips without the sticky feeling. I love this product and will definitely try the other shades. Plus I absolutely love the magnetic cap – it keeps everything together in my bag when I just plop it in loose. #guilty of doing so!
Julep Nail Lacquer In Aloha ($14) I’m curious as to how they named this because I would’ve associated Aloha with a shade of green (but that’s just me). Anyway, I love this color because it really suits my complexion. I tried to swatch it and it looks darker applied than the bright shimmering violet shade registering in the bottle. It is very pigmented. The color provides full coverage and is very easy to apply. I had a little difficulty in removing it but it didn’t damage my nails (or makethem yellow).
Julep Nail Lacquer In Maureen ($14) This color is fun! I would’ve named this Mermaid because it just reminds me of one (not that I’ve seen any mermaids lately). Kidding aside, it provides full coverage and is very pigmented upon application. It seems darker in the swatch than in the bottle but there’s no huge difference. It has this metallic effect that is perfect for night-outs and parties.
Julep Nail Lacquer In Josie ($14) This color is really good for everyday use! It provides rich color and coverage with one swipe. Even though it is not metallic or shimmery, it still brightened up my nails. This is easier to remove compared to the other metallic shades.
I love all the nail lacquers I received this month! They last for a week on my nails and they don’t chip even when I’m busy with managing my life. The bottles don’t take up a lot of space compared with other nail lacquers, so it’s easier to pack when I want to bring them when I travel. I also liked the Way Butter Hydrating Lip Sheer, it’s so good that it made me want to try the other available shades. I’m pleased overall and I can’t wait for next month!
FYI – My subscription is on a 6-month payment schedule so I pay only $16.66 per box. I can have the most ridiculous polish collection in the world and never break the bank, plus I can skip at any time.
