Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription. Get five makeup, beauty, skincare, and hair care items in a cute bag for $10 a month! It’s the most popular subscription box and a great way to sample new colors and beauty brands.

The April Glam Bag features a butterfly print. I had my pouch sticking out of my bag at a restaurant tonight and the server excitedly told me she got her ipsy bag today too. Everyone’s got one – and if you did subscribe this month, yay for us, because this is just the prettiest pouch they’ve ever had!

It’s so chic!

This month’s theme is Social Butterfly.

On the other side of the card is a short inspirational message from Ipsy.

Everything in my April bag!

There are many bag variations every month for Ipsy – login to your account to check out how-to videos and tips for your products. They’ve also started emailing out product information and tips from their influencers!

Ofra Cosmetics Blush Pan Refill In Chameleon ($12) A pressed powder blush in Chameleon, which is a peachy shade.

Ofra’s blushes are highly pigmented and apply creamy (for a powder). Plus the pans are magnetic, so put them in those palettes!

A little swipe of this goes a long way. It’s a great blush if you are into subtle looks like me.

As you can see, it is really pigmented upon swatching. It is buildable but I suggest you apply lightly at first so that you will not be overwhelmed. I As for the color, this shade really looks nice with my complexion. It doesn’t appear cakey when applied with other makeups of other brands. It’s long-lasting too for an all-day look!

Firma 202 Angled Eyeshadow Blender ($12.99) This angled brush can be used to blend eyeshadow on your lids, and also in smaller areas of the face, like for contouring on side of the nose and around the lips.

It is made up of synthetic fibers which don’t soak or absorb the product and feels soft on the skin. I use it especially on my creases and to blend makeup easily.

Bella Pierre Banana Setting Powder ($18) I love the practical design and packaging. I also appreciate the peel off sticker to avoid excessive spillage and mess. In setting powder kits it is crucial to have banana in your arsenal – it counteracts blue undertones and hides dark circles in a snap.

What a score to get a hefty amount of banana powder – I’m guilty of dark circles for all sorts of reasons (hello 3 month old baby!) – definitely a winner for me.

Purlisse Coconut Oil + Coffee Sugar Body Scrub ($10) I’m not into coffee, whether for drinking or for skin care, so this didn’t impress me. However, if you find the scent of coffee invigorating, then this moisturizing scrub is perfect for you.

The scrub also contains coconut oil, which is rich in anti-inflammatory properties and helps nourish your skin. Other ingredients include sugar cane, fruit extracts, mongongo seed, moringa oils, cupuaçu seed, and shea butter.

H2O+ Beauty Oasis Hydrating Treatment ($7.60) The main ingredients of this hydrating treatment are seagrass and water lily extracts, which promote retention of moisture in the skin. This formula also claims to deliver double the hydration from the regular moisturizers and to keep the skin hydrated for 24 hours.

Upon opening, I immediately got a whiff of the fresh scent of the product. It is a dense gel but not heavy on the skin. It has a thick consistency that can get tacky so use a light touch. My skin became noticeably moisturized, softer, and hydrated.

I like the April curation for my bag because it covers different aspects of skin care and makeup. I just wish they added a brush I can use for the blush and setting powder to establish a connection between products but for $10, as always, a total winner in my book and about $61 in value! The butterfly bag is cute (probably not my favorite ever, but right up there – and the prettiest!) and I totally enjoyed sampling every product this month!
