The Boxwalla Food Box contains delicious artisan crafted foods and goodies from all across the US! Boxwalla is a bi-monthly subscription service that offers four themes: natural beauty, artisanal food, international film, or books! In Boxwalla, you’ll be able to discover great artisans and artists from across the globe. After your first box you can switch themes, but of course, you can subscribe to more than one box as well.

The food box focuses on small-batch goodies, but only the best!

The box itself is a luxe cotton rag paper covered box handcrafted by artisans in Rajasthan, India. No child labor is ever used. The outside of the reusable box indicates which variety of Boxwalla you received. I love how the box itself supports socially and environmentally conscious goals.

The April Food Box is themed When The 4 P.M Hunger Pangs Strike. The information card is a letter from “The Drunken Boxwallas” detailing each of the products.

Everything in the April Boxwalla Food Box!

Kiinoa Cheddar Cheese ($2.07) Made from organic quinoa, this puffed snack is certified gluten-free, non-GMO, and kosher. It’s flavored with real cheese.

It’s also packed with protein and fiber.

They are crunchy and really cheesy but they tasted like… cheesy quinoa. As in it tasted like a bowl of quinoa. This was too dissonant for me, and it wasn’t a winner!

Kiinoa Honey Mustard Jalapeño ($2.07) These were entirely different. Honey mustard with jalapeño is such a great idea. It gives a spicy kick to your taste buds, just enough to keep you going until you finish the bag.

Like the first pack, this puffed snack is also packed with protein and fiber.

I’m happy we get to try two flavors of these puffed snacks. This one’s for those who crave a little zing for snack time and unlike the cheesy ones, were spot on crunchy goodness and my husband devoured this bag!

Hungry Bird Eats Multi Seeds + Oregano Nordic Crisps ($4.88) These baked crisps were inspired by a traditional Danish snack. They contain organic seeds such as flax, pumpkin, sunflower, chia, and sesame, which gives the snack a wonderful texture.

I could taste a hint of oregano, but it wasn’t off-putting. Also, I like that these crisps are bite-sized. They’re so easy to eat.

It comes in a resealable packaging. I think it’s also great as an on-the-go snack or post-workout snack.

Hungry Bird Eats Rye + Sea Salt Nordic Crisps ($4.88) We received a second bag of crisps in another flavor, rye and sea salt!

Like the first bag of crisps, these were thickly cut. It can be paired with cheese but we ate them out of the bag and they’re wonderful.

It’s organic and tasty, so we’re totally sold! My favorite item in the box!

Mango Walk Rich Bar Candy Bar ($2.99) This “candy bar” is a yummy of combination of mango, dates, coconut, cashews, and hemp seeds.

It’s small but satisfying since it’s jampacked with ingredients. The bar is moist too. I would really call it more of an energy bar, though!

Elements Truffles 70% Cacao Peppermint Infused With Lavender ($9.99) Peppermint and lavender are common ingredients in pampering items. Well, they taste good when infused with chocolate too. This artisanal chocolate bar is inspired by Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of medicine.

It’s made with organic raw cacao butter (ethically sourced from Peru), raw honey, organic raw cacao powder, peppermint essential oil, lavender essential oil, organic lavender flowers, and Himalayan sea salt.

It’s smooth and luxurious! I love the carved flower design on the bar!

We tried snapping a piece and it didn’t crumble.

If you’re a fan of dark chocolate, this one is for you. The peppermint brought it a cooling twist, while the lavender added a unique hint of sweetness.

Elements Truffles 70% Cacao Ginger Infused With Black Pepper ($6.66) The second bar of artisanal chocolate in the box includes ginger and black pepper. It’s quite unique, but I like the spicy and warm notes.

The organic cacao used to make this artisanal chocolate is ethically sourced from Ecuador.

The same intricate flower design is featured in this bar of chocolate.

You can see how nicely done this chocolate is as there are no pockets of air present.

The bottom of the bar has sesame seeds that add a nice crunch on the chocolate.

Bija Bhar Resilience Turmeric ($8.27) This blend of ground yellow turmeric, lemon, maple sugar, and black pepper can be added to tea, nut milk, lattes, smoothies, and cocktails for an added health boost.

According to the packaging, a little goes a long way so all you need is 1/4 teaspoon is enough. Aside from adding to drinks, you can also use it for cooking, and even for creating your own face mask!

The turmeric used in this blend are grown in Hawaii and processed in Brooklyn.

There were lumps of powder when we opened the package, but it easily dissolves in liquid. I almost wish it was a repeat from that awesome turmeric drink from a previous box, because it was so easy to use – but we’ll be using this to flavor rice and veggies and cooking up a storm!

Boxwalla Food is a pleasant experience for my tastebuds, even with this month’s healthier mix of products. I am particularly in love with the artisanal chocolates, the flavors are both unique and refreshing to the palate. I don’t really mind receiving different flavors of the same item! It was fun to taste everything and compare! My favorite item though is those rye crisps – I’m just insanely happy over them and need more (now!).

What’s your favorite item this month?
