Owl Crate is a monthly subscription of books and bookish items. Each OwlCrate contains one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to the monthly theme. I love finding new authors and new companies that Owl Crate uses to curate and send a perfectly themed box. Everything is always so spot on and I love them all.

February’s OwlCrate theme is Hidden Worlds. OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

Everything in my amazing February Hidden Worlds OwlCrate.

The Informational booklet has become a staple in the boxes.

We get interviews with the author and some of the suppliers of the extra items, a sneak peek of the next OwlCrate and a comparison of the exclusive cover versus the regular cover. Another month that I love the OwlCrate cover.  I’m loving the green versus the black.

I know I’ve mentioned it before but not sure I’ve taken a picture. The book comes in a plastic bag each month and the exclusive cover sticker is on the outside of the bag.

I take the sticker off the bag and place it on the inside sleeve of the jacket. This way I will always know why the book looks different then what I can see online if I was to go to look.

The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert ($11.48) – Oh, wow I wasn’t sure where the Hidden Worlds theme would take us but this looks to be a meta take on the Fractured Fairytale genre. While this is all about the fairytales, it reminds me of when Sam and Dean from Supernatural realize they are also characters in a book series and there are fan conventions and everything. It is one of my favorite arcs in that series and I can’t wait to see how this book turns out.

Seventeen-year-old Alice and her mother have spent most of Alice’s life on the road, always a step ahead of the uncanny bad luck biting at their heels. But when Alice’s grandmother, the reclusive author of a cult-classic book of pitch-dark fairy tales, dies alone on her estate, the Hazel Wood, Alice learns how bad her luck can really get: Her mother is stolen away―by a figure who claims to come from the Hinterland, the cruel supernatural world where her grandmother’s stories are set. Alice’s only lead is the message her mother left behind: “Stay away from the Hazel Wood.”

Alice has long steered clear of her grandmother’s cultish fans. But now she has no choice but to ally with classmate Ellery Finch, a Hinterland superfan who may have his own reasons for wanting to help her. To retrieve her mother, Alice must venture first to the Hazel Wood, then into the world where her grandmother’s tales began―and where she might find out how her own story went so wrong.

The book also came with a note from the author.

Did you notice I again didn’t include a signed bookplate in my extras this month? That is because OwlCrate is now sending autographed books! While they aren’t saying it will be this way every month this is our second one and I’m still just as excited.

A fancy Skeleton Key Necklace designed b y Team OwlCrate inspired by the key used in the story Caroline. I’m all about some funky necklaces lately and I’m loving the key. It has a great weight to it and hangs really well around my neck.

Through the Wardrobe soy candle by Books on Candles – Take the scent of pine, mint and vanilla and be transported through the wardrobe into the land of Narnia. This has a great fresh scent and is going next on my to be burned stash.

Zipper Pouch designed by Risa Rodil – This pouch is inspired by Daughter of Smoke and Bone and is a rich eggplant shade. I’m not familiar with the book but I LOVE the saying and the bag is nice and thick and a great size.

This shows the rich purple shade a little better. I’m a purple fanatic so this is perfect for all of my belongings.

Alice sticker designed by Naomi Lord – There couldn’t be a Hidden Worlds box without something inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Every month we also get a pin with this month’s theme represented.

Wall Tapestry by Evie Bookish – Oh my gosh, this is HUGE!  It is a gorgeous tapestry and has the perfect saying for any reading nook. I’m working on finding the best spot in my house to hang this stunner. I love getting sucked into a book and I do it as often as I can and now I can’t wait to do it with this hanging behind me.

What do you think of this month’s stunning Owl Crate box? Owl crate rarely dissappints and this month is no exception. I love that they are looking and including items that are different from what we always get. Last month with the pillow case and this month with the tapestry. It is fabulous and while being book related it also works with the theme of Hidden Worlds. All books take us into a new world hidden from those that haven’t read the story. I’m excited for this months book and all the behind the scenes stories it will share.

The March 2018 theme is Across the Galaxy! This month’s box will include an exclusive cover AND the book will be signed by the author!
