I love the festive look this month!

It’s a new year which comes with changes to the Covet Crate mini magazine. The cover used to feature a woman that changed the world. This month’s cover displays the January theme Sparkle & Focused.

I do miss “the woman that changed the world” feature which was unique to Covet Crate. The table of contents lists out the items in both the Girl and Lady Covet Crate Boxes. The booklet contains information on the brands, items, prices, and websites.

Here are the items in the January Covet Crate Box. This review is for the Lady Boss Box.

The following items are included in the Girl & Lady Boss Crates.

I value quality stationery and am excited to see Cloth & Paper featured in the January box. The Icon Rollerball Pen ($17.90) is a 0.5 mm black gel ink pen that weighs 38 grams. The stainless steel rollerball pen sits comfortably in my hand and has a weight of 38 grams. Covet Crate did an excellent job at selecting a pen that does not overwhelm my hand with weight or size.

I value quality stationery and am excited to see Cloth & Paper featured in the January box. The Cloth & Paper 2018 Monthly Bound Planner ($18.90 info card) has a pleasing minimalist look with a gold foiled finishing.

The A5 size planner has enough room to write down pertinent appointments without sacrificing too much space in a tote or laptop bag.

The minimalist-style planner provides a monthly overview for January 2018 through December 2018. It also provides 19 dot grid pages for Bujo writing which is similar to bullet style writing.  Cloth and Paper offers a subscription box.

Continuing with the “Sparkle and Focused” theme are Studio Calico Goldie Collection Cardstock Stickers with Foil Accents ($4.00) that focuses on expressing your feelings. My 9-year-old son loved the emojis and wanted to use the stickers for his photo book.

Susan Packard. The co-founder of HGTV, wrote an engaging book to help women succeed in the workplace. New Rules of the Game: 10 Strategies for Women in the Workplace ($25.95. $16.00 info card) is described by Amazon as

Where would your career be if you could understand how your colleagues–especially men–succeed and win at work? And if, in understanding and applying the rules, you could win, too?

In New Rules of the Game, business leader Susan Packard shows you how to cultivate gamesmanship–a strategic way of thinking regularly seen in the video game and sports worlds, and most often among men–that develops creativity, focus, optimism, teamwork, and competitiveness. You’ll learn the Ten Rules of Gamesmenship and how to use them effectively to:

·        Compete outwardly in a healthy, rewarding way
·        Build support groups to help you advance
·        Step up with more grit to get the next win
·        Approach your workplace with more lightness and insight
·        Take loss in stride and provide the emotional distance needed to win at work

Packard shares her career story with humor and candor, including the successes and the mistakes, the triumphs and some personal and career setbacks, and presents them as teachable moments for you.

But the book is much bigger that one person’s experience. Packard also shares the stories of other presidents and CEOs who have become great gamers in their own fields, providing you with the insight and inspiration to play the business game smarter, stronger, and more successfully. You will also be better able to coach others, inspiring your team to perform at higher levels as you drive them toward the next win.

The book made me laugh! It also provided opportunities to apply what you learn in the “Your Turn” at the end of each chapter. It’s a fitting book for women working in corporate America.

Sharpen your focus with a cuppa of Basilur Oriental Collection Golden Crescent or Frosty Afternoon Black Tea (appx $0.42 ea, $0.84 total.) The tea is grown and packaged in Sri Lanka.

I remember reading Starlook Starbox Subscription Box Reviews when I first learned about subscription boxes!

The Starlooks 4 Shade Lip Palette ($39.00) showcases the four most popular lip colors used by all skin tones.

The four gorgeous colors are Pearly Nude, Light Pink with Gold Shimmer, Bright Pink and Classic Red. The Starlooks 701 Lip brush is recommended for application.

The Made in China StarLooks “Presence’ Eye Pencil ($12.00) was also featured in the December 2015 Starlooks LooksBooks Subscription box. The classic pencil gives the eyes a goldish accent.

I do think it would have been nice to receive the lip brush in place of the eye pencil if only to provide a better swatch photo!

The following items are included in Lady Boss Crate only.

Everyone in my house wants to use the distinguish looking Cloth and Paper Numbers Pocket Folder Set (18.90 info card, $12.90 Cloth & Paper.) The five-set black paper is made from 120 lb textured card stock with matte gold foil finishing. The A5 sized folders are smaller than the average folder making it useful to keep track of receipts, brochures, and small documents.

Jade J is a Southern California startup company that unites tech with style. The Rose Gold JadeJ Powerboost ($59.99 info card) has a battery life of 500 cycles and weighs 3.2 ounces.

I like the sleek look.

It comes with a micro cable that can be used with Android devices. You can also use your device’s cable.

The rose gold complements the items in the box.  I will be keeping it in my tote bag for those times when I not able to recharge my phone via an outlet. Jade J offers corporate branding. I am relieved to see that Covet Crate did not have the words “Lady Boss” engraved on the back.

The Jade Bud ($49.99) packs a lot in its small case.  Directions and multiple-sized earbud tips are included.

The earbuds have a built-in microphone and volume control button.

Very pretty. Earbuds are always needed in my household.

What an improvement over the November box! Cloth and Paper items, a humorous book, makeup, stylish tech items, and a couple of “me time” items rounding out the box shows me that Covet Crate is focused on the new year. The value of the box is over $200.00 for the Lady Boss edition. My favorite items are the Cloth and Paper products. I hope they continue to improve throughout the year.
