The Boxwalla Food Box contains delicious artisan crafted foods and goodies from all across the US! Boxwalla is a bi-monthly subscription service that offers four themes: natural beauty, artisanal food, international film, or books! In Boxwalla, you’ll be able to discover great artisans and artists from across the globe. After your first box you can switch themes, but of course, you can subscribe to more than one box as well.

The food box focuses on small-batch goodies, but only the best!

The box itself is a luxe cotton rag paper covered box handcrafted by artisans in Rajasthan, India. No child labor is ever used. The outside of the reusable box indicates which variety of Boxwalla you received. I love how the box itself supports socially and environmentally conscious goals.

The February Food Box is themed For the Love of Chocolate. It is filled with small batch, artisanal chocolate from around the U.S.

The information card is a letter from “The Drunken Boxwallas” detailing each of the products.

Everything in the February Boxwalla Food Box!

Arete Fine Chocolate Gianduja Bar ($15) This award-winning chocolate bar is made with Italian hazelnuts and Fazenda cocoas. It has the perfect texture because of the crushed hazelnuts.

Arete Fine Chocolate Guatemela Lachua Dark Milk Chocolate ($12) There are different variations for this dark chocolate bar depending on how much cocoa and where it came from. I received the one made from 58% Guatemala Lachua cocoa beans.

At the back of the packaging, the consume by date is very visible. That’s really good to know.

The bar envelopes are so pretty!

Each chocolate bar is wrapped in clear plastic packaging.

Two bars of rich and smooth chocolate! Yum!

Here you can see how rich the chocolate is. There are even swirls on it.

This Guatemalan bar was 58% dark milk chocolate, so it wasn’t overly dark and really made it that much better. The single source beans really delivered on flavor and we savored every bite of this bar!

I can see bumps in this chocolate bar, they were definitely generous with those Piedmont hazelnuts! This bar featured Brazil Fazenda Camboa cacao which was the perfect pairing to the rich and intense hazelnut flavor. A total winner!

Moderne Chocolate and Toffee Bar In Lime ($9) This chocolate bar is the winner of the Sofi Gold Awards’s Outstanding Chocolate. It is made from 65% cacao blend of Valrhona fine dark chocolates.

Everything that you need to know about the chocolate bar can be found on the back of the packaging.

Just like a usual bar of chocolate, it’s wrapped in gold foil paper.

True to its word, the chocolate bar is really rich and dark.

The crunchiness from this chocolate bar is from the generous amount of butter toffee nuggets studded throughout, which plays off the cool lime flavors. A totally unique combo!

A trio of selections from Alma were included in this month’s box!

Alma Chocolate Genmaicha Crunch Bar ($6) Unique yet tasty, this one is made from 40% dark milk chocolate and toasted Japanese rice.

Alma Chocolate Sea Salt Hazelnut Crunch Bar ($6) I enjoyed the hazelnuts and Oregon-harvested sea salt that made this bar really flavorful.

Alma Chocolate Matcha Mint Bar ($6) This is the perfect mixture of white chocolate, peppermint oil, and matcha green tea. The peppermint oil in this bar is super pure with a really fresh taste.

As per usual, the nutrition facts and ingredients can be found at the back of the clear packaging. There’s also a clear indication of the best by dates!

What a mouthwatering treat! The topping on this bar are sea salt and hazelnuts. The sea salt isn’t really visible, but once you taste it, you just know it’s there and it perfectly complements the chocolate.

There are large halves of hazelnut on the chocolate bars. So delicious!

The bar can be easilycut into pieces. I missed taking a photo of it but the center is a praline hazelnut filling which really took this confection to the next level (and it was already at insane!).

Like any matcha flavored snack or drink, this chocolate bar has a green color. It’s topped with chocolate shavings.

The design on this bar is different. Instead of the conventional mini bars, it appears you can break it in pieces but not in equal sizes.

You can also find the same design on the Genmaicha Crunch bar.

The edges are not perfect and there are air bubbles in the bar – a little rustic!

Meanwhile, this one is loaded with lots of toasted Japanese rice which is evident with the uneven texture.

This bar wasn’t my favorite. I’m not a malt fan and I thought the rice was overly toasted. The flavor balance was off for me, but it was my husband’s favorite!

Anytime is a great time to receive a box filled with chocolates!  It was a bit odd to receive two chocolate boxes in a row from this bimonthly subscription (it’s not a chocolate subscription) but I’m glad to see Boxwalla taking advantage of the weather! My favorites were the two nut bars, but that’s my personal preference – they were all exceptional. I’m looking forward to (I hope!) some savory selections in the next box.
