Fool Me Once b Harlan Coben ($10.19)

In the course of eight consecutive #1 New York Times bestsellers, millions of readers have discovered Harlan Coben’s page-turning thrillers, filled with his trademark edge-of-your-seat suspense and gut-wrenching emotion. In Fool Me Once, Coben once again outdoes himself…

Former special ops pilot Maya, home from the war, sees an unthinkable image captured by her nanny cam while she is at work: her two-year-old daughter playing with Maya’s husband, Joe—who was brutally murdered two weeks earlier. The provocative question at the heart of the mystery: Can you believe everything you see with your own eyes, even when you desperately want to? To find the answer, Maya must finally come to terms with deep secrets and deceit in her own past before she can face the unbelievable truth about her husband—and herself.

I love a good thriller and one that keeps me flipping pages is even better. I can’t wait to find out what this unthinkable image is or all the secrets of our main character. Also I love a strong female character, it’s kind of my Achilles’ heel. This looks like a book that could help me pass hours in the park while my family plays Pokemon Go.

I’m Traveling Alone by Samuel Bjork ($15.95)

International bestseller Samuel Bjork makes his US debut, a chilling and fast-paced thriller in which two detectives must hunt down a vengeful killer–and uncover the secret that ties each of them to the crime

A six-year-old girl is found in the countryside, hanging lifeless from a tree and dressed in strange doll’s clothes. Around her neck is a sign that says “I’m traveling alone.”

A special homicide unit re-opens with veteran police investigator Holger Munch at the helm. Holger’s first step is to persuade the brilliant but haunted investigator Mia Kruger, who has been living on an isolated island, overcome by memories of her past. When Mia views a photograph of the crime scene and spots the number “1” carved into the dead girl’s fingernail, she knows this is only the beginning. Could this killer have something to do with a missing child, abducted six years ago and never found, or with the reclusive religious community hidden in the nearby woods?

Mia returns to duty to track down a revenge-driven and ruthlessly intelligent killer. But when Munch’s own six-year-old granddaughter goes missing, Mia realizes that the killer’s sinister game is personal, and I’m Traveling Alone races to an explosive–and shocking–conclusion.

If you need me I’m far to busy getting into this novel to cook, clean or even eat. This looks like a nail bitter and I couldn’t be more excited to get to know this author. This month’s selections are perfect for me… I fall more and more in love with books each month that BookCase.Club sends to my door.

I was surprised to discover that I enjoy reading the book by Harlan Coben. I’ve been skipping over his books thinking I did not like them. Now I need to read more of his books! I am waiting for a quiet night to read the second selection.

Kim – I received a couple of books that I already read, but found it’s worth the subscription especially with a coupon.

I love books by Harlan Coben. I read his books whenever I see them. This book is over two years old. I read it in May 2016. The selections are good but I would be worried I would get a book I already read.
