November’s Beauteque BB Bag theme is Thank Your Skin (it’s on the small sticker securing the tissue paper).

During this season of gratitude, don’t forget to thank yourself! Show your skin some love while giving yourself a well-deserved break. This month’s boxes have everything you need to turn your home into a spa-like retreat and pamper away stress and skin troubles.

The information card is now digital. You can access product information and basic how-to-use directions by logging into your account, scanning the QR code, or visiting www.beautequemonthly.com/portal. The prices listed below are those of Beauteque, unless otherwise noted.

Full reveal of the November Beauteque BB box. I am curious about that silicone brush.

Look at Me | Hydrogel Eye Patch – Green Tea ($5.99): The information card shows that subscribers were supposed to get the aloe vera eye patches which help reduce puffiness and hydrate fine lines. As you can see, I received the green tea version which is just fine by me. The green tea extracts help eliminate the appearance of dark circles and reduce puffiness while energizing skin around the eye. These are great for those days when I need a little assistance to get rid of my “puppy eyes.” (My mom’s accent made puffy sound like puppy. It wasn’t until I was a teenager that I realized what she had been saying for all of those years when I cried. I thought she meant I looked like a sad puppy! We had a really good laugh at that one.)

My niece decided to model these for me. I may have applied them a little too close to her eyes for comfort. The hydrogel allowed the patches to stay in place without slipping. Jasmine said that her skin felt cool afterwards. Note – these can be worn under your favorite sheet mask for a bump in benefits.

Bobmiki | Blackhead Cleanser ($18.99): This cleanser uses volcanic ash to draw out oil and impurities in the skin. The bottle features a built-in silicone brush to deep clean with minimal irritation. So, two things about this product. First, like most K-beauty cream cleansers I’ve used, a little goes a long way. A pea-sized amount is enough to wash your face when using a silicone scrubber or facial brush. I got a good cleaning that didn’t leave me feeling dry immediately. And lastly, the built-in brush is only good for getting into small/tight areas of your face such as your nose and T-zone. You’ll spend eons trying to use it to wash your face. The real drawback is that product is pumped to dispense out of the brush.

Goodal | Orchid Hand Cream ($6.99): I nearly had a heart attack when I read the information page – this was priced at $65.99! Clearly, there was a typo. This hand cream actually retails at $6.99. I absolutely LOVE this hand cream!!! I wash my hands a lot and am always on the lookout for a good moisturizer. I can feel an immediate difference when I apply this. It is thick and non-greasy. The shea butter and baobab seed oil formula absorbs quickly and leaves my hands with long-lasting softness. This is great for the cooler winter weather.

Yureka.esthetic | Charcoal Premium Modeling Gel Mask Pack ($12.99): There is a little bit of a price discrepancy on this mask pack. It is listed at $9.99 on Beauteque.com. If you haven’t tried a modeling mask before, you should. The experience is interesting. This is applied like a clay mask (except you mix the mask powder and activating gel together first), but dries to a rubber consistency. The activated charcoal draws out excess sebum and impurities from the skin, while hyaluronic acid hydrates skin. Tip – lie down after applying to prevent excess dripping (maybe catch up on some reading too).

Make Up :PAL | 4-Step Night Time Natural Skincare ($12.99): Another price discrepancy here. This is listed on Beauteque.com at $4.99, which is comparable to the price, plus international shipping, from Make Up :PAL. Make Up :PAL products are made using EWG green grade ingredients and do not contain parabens, mineral oil, triethanolamine, or synthetic colors. This regime can be used by all skin types and provides moisturizing, nourishing, and wrinkle reducing benefits.

  • Step 1 Moist Gel Toner – Provides moisture and nourishment to soften and brighten skin. Formula includes gotu kola extract, sodium hyaluronate, peppermint extract, and chamomile extract.
  • Step 2 Miracle Refreshing Serum – Contains ceramide to help boost moisture retention in skin.
  • Step 3 Moisturizing Booster Emulsion – Contains olive oil and shea butter to soothe, smooth, and nourish skin.
  • Step 4 Deep Moisturizing Night Cream – Uses butylene glycol acid (from sugar cane) and adenosine to brighten skin and improve circulation.

Malian | Silicone Make Up Brush ($4.99): I wasn’t really sure what to use this brush for. According to the information card, this brush can be used to apply masks, primer, or foundation. Even when Googling, there wasn’t a lot for this particular silicone brush shape. I tried it with my foundation, but it felt like I was spackling my face. I used less product on the brush, but the application looked streaky. I do agree that this would be good with masks, though. In one video I watched, this brush was used for concealer – the shape was good for under the eye. Let me know if you were able to use this with your make up.

The November Beauteque BB Bag had a listed value of $63, but I found this to actually be $52. Regardless, the value is still more than 2x the cost of the box, so I’m happy that I got a good deal for my money. I liked all of the items in this month’s box, with the exception of the silicone brush (but only because I can’t figure it out). After all of the moisturizing and pampering, my skin is going to look amazing this month, and I’m sure it’s thanking me for taking some time to remember it.

On a side note: Before trying any Asian cosmetic subscription, expect that most information on the package will be in the native language. That said, more and more brands are including directions/ingredients in English, and information can also be found in English on the majority of brands’ websites (you may have to choose a brand’s global or US site). Secondly, a large number of products focus on brightening or whitening the skin. As a person of color, I have not seen my skin color change. Instead, I’ve experienced that my skin tone gets evened out after prolonged use. However, your results may be different. And lastly, many products contain ingredients which are animal-derived, so these may not be an option if you are vegan. You can also check out cosDNA.com to see if the ingredients for the product are listed there.
