VetPet Box offers dog and cat subscription boxes curated by veterinarians and their pets. Expect to receive high-quality toys, treats, wellness products, and educational materials. Customized the dog box by selecting one of six different weight sizes, chewing style, allergies (if any), and opt to fill out an extended questionnaire which includes “anxieties, blindness, fashion preferences, and more!”  VetPet Box also gives back annually a portion of the profits to nonprofit organizations.

The inside cover has a short letter from the VetPet Box Team.

My doggies have been impatiently waiting for me to open the box. They did not want to wait for me to read the VetPet Box Wellness Pamphlet even though it said: “read me.”

The box was full of items for Bella to enjoy!

The Toys and Education products are described on one side which also includes prices. Bella will receive two out of the three toys because both variations of the chewing style toys are listed. The chewing styles are Responsible Chewer and Power Chewer.

The flip side lists the Treats and Wellness items. The allergy pet option is also listed. I like the detailed information provided by the information card because I have three different size dogs with different needs that feel they should be able to eat all treats!

Here are the items in the January VetPet Box Petite Dog Edition. Bella, our seven-year-old Miniature Rat Terrier, will be our reviewer and believes in showing no mercy to her toys. She is about the same size as our male tuxedo cat, Sylvester and weighs 14 and a half pounds. This box is based on her profile which is petite size, aggressive chewer, and no allergies.

Bella received two out of the three toys based on her chewing style. She did not receive the Bad to the Bone toy which is for the responsible chewer.

The durable Small Gray Barkbel™ by Pet Projekt™ ($12.00)  is the perfect size for Bella. The rubber toy is free of phthalate, cadmium, lead, and BPA.  The adorable toy has a S on it for Small and measures 2.2″ x 5″ x 2.2″. She will enjoy chewing on it after doing her daily workout of running with the cats in the house.

The Made in the USA Ruff Dawg Weenut and Peanut Crunch Toy ($11.99 Info Card, $10.88 Amazon) smells like peanuts and makes a crunchy sound. The 4.6″ toy is free of phthalates, latex, and BPAs. It can be filled with treats, floats on the water, and has a delightful texture for teeth and gums.

The Ethical Pet Laser Exercise Toy ($6.99 Information Card, $2.99 Chewy) can be used with dogs and cats. It comes with the necessary batteries.

Bella showed some interest in it. The cats went crazy chasing the red light.

Bella was excited to try out two delectable treats.

All three doggies loved the Made in the USA My Little Wolf Turkey Bliss Recipe Treats (5.29 oz, $5.99 Information Card, $8.79 Amazon.) The training-size treats are made with over 25% turkey and have 2.7 calories per treat. Bella barked that the soft, grain-free treats tasted delicious.

I had a hard time keeping the kitty away from the Made in the USA Nutrisentials Lean Dog Treats (4 oz, $2.99 Information Card, Pack of 3 for $15.93 on Amazon.) She needs to be munching on the cat version. The soft treats are made with skinless chicken which made Bella begged for more!

Bella now has a light to light her way in the scary dark. The Nite Ize Petlit ($4.49 Information Card, $3.59 Amazon) clips easily onto her collar. Just twist it to the right to turn on the light. It matches her pink jacket that she wears on her walks.

She is testing her light out as the sun starts to set. She feels that little dogs should only play in backyards once the sun starts going down.

She does approve of us using the Earth Rated Dispenser with Lavender Scented Waste Bags 15 Count ($5.99 Information Card, $3.74 Amazon) during her daytime walks. The dispenser has a hook on the back to hold used bags.

The Purina Pet Food Measuring Cup ($2.99) is a great tool to help prevent obesity by measuring out portions. Now if it would only keep Bella out of the cats’ food!

I was amazed by the number of educational materials included in the box. The January Wellness Topic for petite-sized doggies is overweight pets. It is a timely topic for my family because Bella was recently diagnosed with a thyroid condition. Our vet suggested to encourage her to be more active to control her weight because her thyroid condition does not require medicine yet.

The VetPet Monthly Wellness Pamphlet contained information regarding a healthy weight for our beloved doggies.

The vet-authored material also included a short note from the VetPet Box Team acknowledging that weight can be a sensitive topic for pet parents and a thank you note. I know when my vet spoke to me about Bella that I felt a bit embarrassed when I found out she had a weight problem. We’ve been weighing her using Wii Fit U and are happy to see that she lost 2.5 pounds since her appointment.

J, our nine-year-old-son, enjoyed learning about the Body Condition Score and scoring our three dogs. He’s in charge of checking them once a month.

‘Walking Your Dog for Weight Loss” has great tips for creating a walking plan for an obese dog.

Lastly, we have the “My Pet’s Weight Assessment” sheet which will be taken to our vet appointments.  J is in charge of the paperwork and is looking forward to the next vet appointment.

Here are a couple more doggy pictures. Bella chose to review indoors because it was cold outside.

She is a happy girl as she chews on her dumb bell!

Bella is adorable as she waits for my helper to give her yummy Lean Dog Treats to taste test.

Bella is chewing on her Weenut and Peanut Crunch toy while her best bud, Odie, gives me a mournful face and a wagging tail. He loved the treats, but the toys were too small for tug-of-war with Bella. Daisy has a different toy philosophy than Bella which is why they are not pictured together in reviews. She did enjoy trying out the Little Lion treats.

Bella greatly enjoyed the January VetPet Box Petite Dog Edition.  The durable toys are the perfect size for her and are holding up to her aggressive chewing. She enjoyed her bite-size treats which were moist and easy to chew. The family loved the wellness items and educational materials which were especially healthful because of Bella’s weight gain. The box value came to over $54.00 which is excellent for a box offering Petite-Size dog toys. The value does not include a monetary amount for the vet-authored materials which my family found to be helpful and timely. It’s a wonderful customizable dog box for those that want toys, treats, wellness items, and vet-authored educational materials.
