Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists,  a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.

I just love the black and white sticker on this box. Every time I open it, I think it’s such a classy touch.

Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences. I love the high-end brands every month for just $10.

That little card is a PLAY! Pass that will get you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box, in-store only.

The theme is Happy YOU Year!

This month they left us with some monthly challenges to up our beauty games!

This fold-out poster shows a list of all the items included in this box plus beauty trivia and tips. You can access all of the information and also watch the videos right on the Sephora site or use the app to scan the sheet for more info!

This month’s Play! Pass looks really playful with the lovely pink color and design.

Everything in my box! See the spoilers for other variations here.

The items come in a pretty white and blue pouch with the theme, Happy You Year, printed on it. The pouches are cute. What are you using yours for?

Glamglow Super Cleanse Clearing Cream-To-Foam Cleanser ($3.20) This cream-to-foam cleanser comes in a small white handy tube. It’s an advanced cleanser that has a blend of three charcoals to detoxify the skin, leaving clean and glowing. It’s gentle yet effective, and it keeps the skin dirt-free without stripping it of necessary moisture. I love the foaminess and it worked well, but it’s probably not my very fave GLAMGLOW item ever.

Alterna Hair Care Caviar CC Cream For Hair ($3) Formulated with caviar extract and vitamin C, this CC cream is a great leave-in treatment and styling product that gives your hair the moisture and strength it needs. It works well whether on straight, wavy or curly hair. I like that it doesn’t weigh my hair down and that it’s lightly scented. It helps minimize frizz and fly-aways too!

FYI – the perfume bonus is now officially gone, and boxes have one bonus item – this was the bonus item for the box.

Nars Satin Finish Lipstick In Orgasm ($14) The shade of this lipstick strikes the perfect balance of neutral and coral. It’s peachy pink with a hint of golden shimmer that offers a rich and radiant matte finish. This lipstick is also enriched with Vitamin E so it stays on longer without drying the lips.

I like that the glimmer in this lipstick isn’t gritty but, to be honest, this iconic shade looks better as a blush than a lippie, at least for me!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer ($5.60) It’s a primer and moisturizer in one! The formula promises 24-hour hydration while taking care of your skin imperfections, including pores, fine lines and wrinkles. It’s light and non-greasy, you won’t even feel it.

The packaging includes a card that contains more information about the product.

L’Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate ($6) Formulated with powerful almond extracts, this cream melts into the skin easily to make it smoother and more nourished. The texture is creamy and silky, while the sweet almond fragrance is subtle but so irresistible. It works well on areas affected by skin slackening, like the thighs, buttocks, tummy, and arms. Also, a little goes a long way!

Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream ($5.30) This smooth and lightweight eye cream is useful in minimizing the puffiness of tired eyes. It works instantly and it’s great under make-up, not greasy at all. You just have to dab a bit on the under eye area and you’re good to go.

I like that this month’s haul from Sephora focused more on skin care. My favorites are the Smashbox primerizer and L’Occitane body cream, they will help keep my skin smooth and hydrated this winter. The total retail price of this box is $37.10, not bad for a $10 monthly subscription!
