Bokksu is a premium snack box that features authentic Japanese snacks, as well as a tea pairing to go with it. The items are what you can’t easily find here across the pond, so trying them is a real treat and always a fun experience!

February’s theme is Doki Doki Kit Kat.

DEAL: Save $5 on your first box with coupon code HELLO.

Cranberry and Almond. Chunks of whole almonds and cranberries are baked into a rich dark chocolate wafer to create this premium, delicious snack. It’s the perfect blend of sweet and fruity, I am in love.

Matcha Double Berry and Almond. With a matcha base, this Kit Kat has a crunchy texture from the added almonds and a nice tart bite from the berry bits sprinkled on top. Matcha is not my favorite and this was a little lost on me. I really liked the top but not the wafer covered matcha.

Dark Chocolate. This dark delight is the less sweet version of the regular Kit Kat. Added bits of dark chocolate give this classy Kit Kat a pleasant crunchiness. It’s more like eating a cookie than anything else, this Kit Kat is for the adult who wants to stay a child inside.

Dark Matcha. This one is infused with matcha and has more complexity of flavor than the Otona no Amasa Matcha, but is sweeter than the Matcha Leaves Kit Kat. This one is lost on me, just the scent makes me cringe. Matcha is not a flavor I enjoy at all.

Matcha. With a light matcha flavor paired with the light flavors of white chocolate. Thankfully, I can taste the white chocolate more so than the matcha. It was a delightful change from the other matcha bars.

Matcha Leaves. This Kit Kat has the strongest matcha flavor of the three, with green tea leaves grounded and blended into the sweet white chocolate base. I love the nice green color but I couldn’t get it past my nose, so I can’t say if it was delicious or not.

Hojicha. Only sold in the Kansai region, this Kit Kat uses handpicked Hojicha, which is layered into the chocolate and produces a delicious, roasted flavor. It’s almost like eating coffee infused chocolate with the great roasted flavor. This is by far my favorite one of the bunch, much to my surprise. It’s light and super flavorful…I will not be sharing these which is kind of the opposite of Valentine’s Day.

Amao Strawberry. Sweet strawberry is fruity but delightfully subtle. A breath of fresh air, this Kit Kat will put you in the right mood to get ready for spring. This is much lighter than the Strawberry but just as wonderful. This is my second favorite in the box, it’s amazing.

Purple Yam. Smooth, creamy and sweet, this delectable Kit Kat perfectly incorporates the richness of purple yam, an Autumn favorite in Japan. It’s a pleasantly warm flavor perfect for the February cold. The pretty color reminds me of Easter but I apparently don’t like yams in any color.

White Peach Tea. Delivering the wonderful fragrance of peach, this tea is a delightful pairing to finish off all my Kit Kat snacking. I’m a little curious about what milk tea is, it’s referenced in the brewing instructions.

Free Exclusive Gift for Classic Bokksu Members: Mini Heart Senbei Black Pepper. These will definitely cleanse the palate between Kit Kat tastings. Oh and they are delicious alone… they will add some spice to any day.

Bokksu is a fun way to travel to Japan without leaving the comfort of my home. I love that there is  a lesson to go with my food so I feel I get a well rounded experience. I would recommend this box to all of my traveling foodie friends and family. This box was so much fun, it blows my mind that there are so many different Kit Kats in the world. I still would love to see a full Pocky box, I think it could give the Kit Kat box a run for it’s money.
