February’s Bircbox is all about beauty through the decades and celebrating the timeless beauty trends of the recent past. Subscribers could choose from three different boxes: ’70s, ’80s or ’90s.

The box design is soooo early ’90s, it’s ridiculous. Like, I should be playing with Barbies while watching Full House in my stirrup leggings, ’90s. Luckily, the products in this box are way better than the Minnie Mouse branded nail polish I was sporting at the time.

Every month an insert provides more details about each item.

The Beauty Crop Eyeshadow Trio in Love You So Latte (RRP £7) contains three complementary shades of brown infused with coffee extracts. This is a nice little palette, compact in size but with a selection of three colours for creating definition. The colours are more subtle than I would like, particularly the darkest brown shade, which makes this a good palette for creating a softer look.

ModelCo Crème Rouge (RRP £14) is a smooth blush in a super bright shade. I loved the way this colour looked in the pot – so fun and so pink. It also has a nice creamy consistency. I applied a tiny amount to my cheeks and, well, I looked like a total clown. The colour is just way too pink for my skin tone and it takes too much rubbing to blend, making my cheeks look even more flush. However, the colour does look great on my lips!

Percy & Reed Quite Frankly Flawless Finishing Polish (RRP £10 for a full size tube) smooths and tames hair for a shiny, refined look. I’ve mentioned my love of Percy & Reed products in the past, and it just so happens that the finishing polish has been one of my go-tos for years. Just a teeny dab of this tames flyaways and adds a touch of shine without any greasiness. It’s ideal for finishing any style.

Sebamed Clear Face Antibacterial Cleansing Foam (RRJP £7.99) counteracts the problems of ioily and acne-prone skin, helping to fight blackheads, pimples and inflammation. I like the very light foam formula, which hasn’t irritated my relatively sensitive skin at all, and leaves my skin feeling clean yet soft.

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray (RRP £10 for a full size bottle) is another product I’ve used in the past. It adds volume and bounce when spritzed on damp hair. The last thing my hair needs is a thickening spray, but this is a good product for those who do need to add volume. It does make my hair feel more voluminous without making it feel heavy.

February’s box was okay for me. The Percy & Reed Finishing Polish remains one of my favourite hair products and I am happy to have discovered the Sebamed Cleansing Foam.
