Birchbox Man is a monthly grooming and lifestyle subscription for men. Through it, you’ll receive 3-4 sample items that are smaller versions of what you can order from the Birchbox site, plus a lifestyle item that is full-size. Boxes are $20 per month.

This month’s Birchbox Man had lots of great stuff to get my face looking good for the holidays. My bright orange bag arrived with my box of products and a lifestyle item.

The design of this month’s box looks super sleek and matches the some of the items inside.

DEAL:When you subscribe to a Birchbox Man plan and use coupon code HEADTOTOETRIO you’ll get a Head-to-Toe Trio FREE! The trio includes: anti-aging face gel, hydrating body wash, and socks.

The theme for November 2017 is Here We Go Holidays.

The card explains the items and lists their full price when purchased in full size. Birchbox has always been about the samples, so if you are a stickler for calculating in-box value, you’ll have to do some math to figure the per ounce value. The items are available on the Birchbox site. See your box at birchbox.com/mybox.

Subscribers are given a sample choice opportunity via email/your account to choose a lifestyle item (mine is at far left). Here’s what I got for my November 2017 box.

BONUS: TwelveNYC 4 Inch Paper Coaster ($2 Full Size): These card stock coasters echoes the design on the box.

The flip side of each has some quasi-inspirational conversation starters.

Blackbird US Targa 1mL ($2) Targa is a spicy, woody, and fresh scent. It has spicy notes of cedar, black pepper, sandalwood, and green peppercorn, as well as fresh notes like helichrysum and geranium.

The sample scent comes in a 1 mL bottle with atomizer for easy dispensing.

Lucky Bastard Gentleman’s Lip Balm The Oval Tube ($6.99) This lip balm especially made for men glides smoothly and leaves a subtle menthol tingle.

It was packaged in a black and white oval tube for quick and easy application.

Swell Water Bottle ($35) My lifestyle item this month is a 260 mL water bottle. It arrived with an environment-friendly packaging.

The packaging says that the company partnered with American Forests to help protect the environment. One bottle purchased is equivalent to one tree planted.

My hand-painted bottle in royal blue features a wood pattern design. It also has a stainless cap. The hand-painted finish makes every bottle unique.

Swell makes the best double-wall stainless steel vacuum insulated water bottles. They use a unique technology called ThermaS’well which keeps drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours.

Brickell Men’s Products Anti Aging Serum ($27.50) This unscented anti-aging formula boosts skin elasticity, restores firmness, and stimulates collagen production. This is safe to use for men of any age and skin type. It comes in a 15 mL pump bottle.

Stubble & Stache Face And Beard Moisturizer ($5.59) Packed with plant-based ingredients, this moisturizer is gentle enough for your face whether your beard is long, short, or temporarily gone. You just have to apply it liberally to your face and beard, and rub until fully absorbed. It eliminates itch and irritation, and keeps your face smooth, too. This is great for guys like me that routinely go a few days between shaves.

Jack Black Deep Dive Cleanser ($2) Lastly, I received a multi-functional cleanser that washes away dead skin cells, pore-clogging oil, and build up. This can also double as a deep cleaning, purifying mask when left to dry on skin. The clay and ash formulation is even paraben-free and vegan!

It’s not always easy to find effective grooming products for men, that’s why I appreciate the items from Birchbox Man. This month, everything is useful and appropriate for the chilly, dry weather. The lip balm is something I could really use in the winter, as well as the moisturizer and cleanser. I’m also looking forward to seeing the effects of the anti-aging serum. They lifestyle item is great, too — perfect for hauling around a piping-hot bottle of cocoa or tea. I also like that I can use the bottle whether I want something cold or warm, so it will see use year-round. The overall retail value is $81.08 and because the box only costs $20, it’s definitely a steal!
