Birchbox Man is a monthly grooming and lifestyle subscription for men. Through it, you’ll receive 3-4 sample items that are smaller versions of what you can order from the Birchbox site, plus a lifestyle item that is full-size. Boxes are $20 per month.

This month’s Birchbox Man suggested a mid-Winter getaway, providing grooming items for face, body, and hair.

There’s an info card that contains a list of all the items in the box. The theme for February 2018 is Pit Stop!

Birchbox has always been about the samples, so if you are a stickler for calculating in-box value, you’ll have to do some math to figure the per ounce value. The cards show the price for the full-size version of the included items — they are available on the Birchbox site. See your box at birchbox.com/mybox.

Here are the items inside my February 2018 box.

They also give subscribers a chance via email/your account to choose a lifestyle item (I got a navy blue scarf on the upper left).

Naadam Cashmere Scarf in Navy ($45) This navy blue cashmere scarf is such a stylish way of keeping warm in Winter. It has a superior insulation against cold weather and it’s really soft too!

Its exclusive pattern and color can be paired with any of your favorite coat, jacket, sweater, or suit. The channels give it a nice visual flow.

Oribe Silver Pearl Eau de Parfum ($3.09) It has deep notes of leather and black amber, which are brightened by middle and top notes of water lily, bamboo, and green fig leaf.

This perfume has a very elegant scent. It is bright and clean, but the freshness comes through with some verdant notes instead of citrus, so it has a subtle richness as well.

hims The Handsome Vitamin ($5.33) These gummies are packed with vitamins and nutrients, promising to help you get stronger hair, nails, and healthier skin. They don’t have the complete run of vitamins and minerals like a multi-vitamin — the focus is on specific nutrients to aid your appearance. Hence, the blast of Biotin and B vitamins.

They taste really fruity that you wouldn’t even think it’s a vitamin. However, upon checking the ingredients I found out that it contains lots of sugar.

Number 4™ Jour d’automne Texture Styling Crème ($1.58) This styling cream gives flexible, weightless control, and a hefty dose of texture on hair. It lasts long and also smells great! Although there are better hair styling products out there, at least this one does its job without the stickiness or residue.

Clinique for Men Face Scrub ($3.15) This facial scrub can act as a skin exfoliator and as a pre-shaving treatment at the same time. The rounded polyethylene beads slough off dry skin and help prevent ingrown hairs whereas salicylic acid unclogs pores and neutralizes bacteria. It also contains menthol that boosts circulation and revitalizes tired complexion.

Billy Jealousy Gold Standard All Over Wash ($1.13) Thanks to natural fruit acids and cucumber extract, this multi-purpose cleaner effectively removes dirt, sweat, and excess oil from the skin. It is also pH-balanced, helping the skin retain its regular moisture while making hair stronger and more manageable. Great for bringing to the gym!

This month’s BirchBox is filled with grooming items for everyday use. There wasn’t anything that wowed me or stood out, except maybe for the navy blue scarf which is going to be useful for me since winter is still far from over. The box’s overall retail value is $59.28, based on per-ounce pricing of the samples. Given the affordable price of the subscription and the big lifestyle item in each box, it remains a really great deal!
