The Better Beauty Box is a monthly subscription box aimed at tween and teen girls. What makes this box different from other subscription boxes is the focus on age-appropriate products (no wrinkle cream!) and cleaner cosmetics (most products will be natural, organic or non-toxic).

The monthly subscription is $24 and will include at least five products. Of the five, up to three could be cosmetics. If your teen or tween isn’t quite ready for makeup yet, they also offer a makeup-free box for $20 per month. Although the value of the box will vary by month, it will always exceed the cost of the monthly subscription.

It has a big pink heart on the bottom!

The box is really pretty!

Inside the box is a card that reminds you to vote for your favorite item and lots and lots of the white squiggly packaging material!

All items are neatly placed and packed in the box.

A list of the products for the month is glued to the inside of the box. From the mom perspective, it’s nice to understand which products are organic, hypoallergenic, etc.

Everything in our February 2018 box!

The Charming Bubble Truffle Bath Melt ($2) This chocolate truffle bath soap is filled with shea butter, cocoa butter, and mango butter. It helps keep the skin moisturized, soft, and smooth. It smells great and looks just like the real thing!

The list of ingredients and instructions for use can be found at the back of the packaging. It’s made with 100% natural ingredients. My tween is totally addicted to bath products and I love that this is natural (and she loved that it smells like yummy chocolate!).

Parlo Cosmetics Mineral Bronzer In Slightly Sun Kissed ($8) It’s a mineral bronzer that doesn’t easily fade or smudge throughout the day. I like how it gives the skin a light natural glow!

This bronzer doesn’t have any harsh chemicals so it’s safe even for those with sensitive skin.

Maiden Hill Farm Golden Girl Body Scrub ($3) Exfoliating is an important step in skin care. This handmade body scrub gently exfoliates dead skin cells, making the skin smooth and silky with a subtle shimmery glow. It has ingredients like sea salt and cane sugar and smells like lemongrass and peppermint with a very light note of coffee.

NCLA Nail Lacquer Remover Sheets ($19) These individually wrapped sheets were designed to remove every last bit of nail polish and because it’s soy based, it also nourishes and strengthens the nails. They are very durable and each sheet is enough to remove polish for 10 fingernails at a time.

The box comes with 10 sheets which is perfect because my daughter loves trying on different shades of nail polish. I am jealous of this item but also happy that it is a soy-based polish remover.

Alteya Organics White Rose Water ($9.54) Rosewater works great as a toner as it balances and refreshes the skin. It’s also ideal for haircare because it makes the hair softer and shiner. Aside from its versatility, another thing to love this formula is its subtle rose scent.

It’s made only from 100% organic steam distilled rose water from Bulgaria and has a beautiful, pure scent. Since I’m a face mist addict (which is a healthy and easy hydration method) I think this is a great item for a teen box!

It’s nice to have a beauty box that is solely curated for a teen/tween, rather than having to hunt down and purchase items individually and worry if an item may be unsuitable.  For me this subscription is firmly in the teen camp, although a tween with lots of makeup exploration under their belt would also be ready for these items. And to be honest, it would be a great box for moms and kids to share! Most importantly, I was very pleased with the ingredients of all the items – there’s nothing in here I wouldn’t let my daughter go to town with!

That was a cute box Brandy, and the truffle looks edible!
