Owl Crate is a monthly subscription of books and bookish items box. Each OwlCrate contains one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to the monthly theme. I love finding new authors and new companies that Owl Crate uses to curate and send a perfectly themed box. Everything is always so spot on and I love them all.
December’s OwlCrate theme is Seize the Day. OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.
The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

We get interviews with the author and some of the suppliers of the extra items, a sneak peek of the next OwlCrate and a comparison of the exclusive cover versus the regular cover.
Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills ($10.97) – I love a good high school drama whether in a book or in a movie I’m all in. I’ve been out of high school for a long time but they are always such interesting reads. This one covers all the bases with first love, finding new friends and stepping outside your comfort zone. OwlCrate says we will have all the fuzzy feels with this one and I can’t wait!

Don’t forget that Owl Crate is now sending exclusive covers with their books (most months). There is a sticker that comes on the plastic bag that the book is shipped in but since I take the books out I decided that I would put the sticker on the inside sleeve. This way I will always remember where it came from and if I decide to look later why the cover is different then I see around.
Ornament by Juniper and Ivy Designs – I LOVE this ornament! I’m a huge Christmas decorator so this went right on my tree. I love sharing my book love and being able to see this every year. While it is an ornament I’m thinking of grabbing it off and hanging it in my office so I can see it all the time. What do you guys think? Could it be just a regular decoration?
The Dreaming Tree Candle by Novelly Yours – A crisp smelling cool night fantastic candle with a hint of magic on top. Isn’t everything better with glitter? I’m pretty sure that answer is YES!
Bookmark from Little Inklings Designs – With a book box I’m always happy with bookmarks. I can not bend down the corners of books so I just bookmarks all the time. This double sided book mark has quotes from The Serpent King and Perks of Being a Wallflower. Both of those books really go with out Seize the Day theme.
Magnet from Ink & Wonder Designs – How pretty is this magnet? These huge magnets that OwlCrate sends really hold papers and other goodies well and share my geeky love in a subtle way. We are huge Percy Jackson fans at my house so a perfect saying for us.
Harry Potter tote bag by Bookworm Boutique – Designed exclusively for Owlcrate this sturdy cotton tote bag will be great for shopping and library trips. The teal color is phenomenal and really pops when I look at it. I was super happy with the lightning bolt side and then I flipped it over and saw the perfect muggles quote from Ron.
I don’t feel like there are as many Ron quotes and items out as there are the other kids so it’s very exciting to get something from him. It is a great quote to kick off a new year.
Planner and Reading Journal by Blue Star Press – Eeehhhh, I’m a paper planner girl so this just made me sequel. I’ve seen other people post about their book lists and plans and always think its a great idea but I didn’t have a great way to do it all in one spot but I can’t say that anymore. I’m already cracking this one open.
The planner starts with a nice note from OwlCrate.
Then follows with a great graphic for me to list my favorite books of the year.
There is a book log and book notes page for every month behind the monthly page shown below.
You can start this planner whenever you want since the monthly pages are blank and you fill them in.
Behind the monthly and book pages are weekly pages. I’m beyond excited to dive into this one and start filing it out. I’m between books right now but one of my favorite authors releases her next book Jan 9th so I’m going to start my year off with that one.

This month the tote and the planner are so perfectly me I could not have asked for anything better and then you round it out with a candle that smells fantastic and a stack of books charm and I’m all in. What a great way to close out the year.
