The presentation was lovely, with a seasonal sticker on the outside and patterned tissue paper inside. I love that the sticker outside the box is changed every month, it is a nice touch!

The items were tucked into brown paper squiggles and I couldn’t wait to give everything a sniff!
I found a card that announced January’s theme, New Year’s Nose.
The backside of the card featured a discount code for a couple of the makers in this month’s box. I always feel like NOSEJOY puts a lot of thought into the scents that go into this box and I am always pleased with the choices.
I found a second card that listed each item, some info about the item, the retail price, and where to find more. NOSEJOY listed a resolution and then showed how each item could help you stick to that resolution!
Everything in my January 2018 NOSEJOY box!
I’ve started seeing glass items wrapped with paper rather than plastic bubble wrap recently. I think this is an environmentally friendly way to ship breakable items and I placed the wrapper in my compost pile.
Sam Wish Hippy Detox Bath Soak ($10) Sam Wish conjures up beautiful, natural beauty products in Austin, Texas and these bath salts smell lovely.
This item is handmade in small batches with Epsom salts, sea salts, and essential oils including grapefruit and patchouli.
These salts not only smell wonderful they look beautiful too! I used them as a foot soak but if you use them to detox your system in the tub then please make sure to stay hydrated afterwards. Also, I’ve said it before and was very pleased to see that the Sam Wish website mentioned it too – if using a product with citrus oils on your skin, avoid sunlight or you may get a nasty burn.
Big Dipper Wax Works Pure Beeswax Tin Candle ($5) NOSEJOY always sends a lovely candle and this month’s offering is made of 100% pure beeswax!
The 1.7 ounce size should burn for over 12 hours and comes in a convenient travel-size tin. It smells like sweet honey! I never considered taking a candle with me on the road but I guess it could add a little ambience to an otherwise bland hotel room.
Pretty Little Bath Co. Coffee Lip Scrub ($6) is from an Etsy vendor who specializes in small-batch, hand-made items.
The ingredients are pretty natural, which I prefer in body products. Sugar, coconut oil, and coffee grounds are all things I have in my kitchen and can pronounce!
Look, it even has a few coffee beans inside! I tipped them out before using the scrub on my winter-weary lips. I would suggest putting a little oil, such as coconut or even olive oil, on your lips before placing this super amazing smelling scrub on your lips, I think it would help it stick a bit better. I rinsed my lips in the shower but you could just lick your lips in a pinch, no microbeads are in here to make you sick.
Lollia Wander Petite Shea Butter Hand Creme ($7.50) Wow, even the box of this lotion is beautiful, but then, all the items from Margot Elena are a feast for the eyes as well as the nose. Wander is the scent of Midnight Gardens & Wildflower, which is described as “night blooming Jasmine, ancient Cypress, Water Lily, and delicate, Dew drenched Greens.” It smells floral and feminine.
The ingredients include macadamia seed oil, shea butter, and aloe juice and it left my hands soft and softly perfumed. Very indulgent.
The Cottage Greenhouse Fresh Carrot French Soap ($6.50) Wow, this brand also falls under the Margot Elena product line! This soap is triple milled and features a shea butter base.
I find these square soaps are better to use at the sink for hand washing rather than in the shower so that is exactly how I will put it to use. The scent is fresh, clean, green, and sweet and doesn’t really smell like carrots but I do like it!
NOSEJOY included a gift bag with that lovely dotty tissue paper because no matter how hard they try to curate the perfect box, some items may not be a big hit with all subscribers. In that case, they want to urge you to place an item you may not be in love with in the gift bag and pass it along to a friend who just might love it. What a nice idea!
NOSEJOY certainly knows how to curate a box! I loved the theme this month and thought NOSEJOY put a lot of thought and care into choosing the items to match, but then they do that every month! The candles in this subscription are always fabulous and I love to find a natural beauty product no matter what the box. I’m having a hard time picking a favorite item this month because they all look and smell lovely! I found the products to have a value of around $35, not including the gift bag. This is right around the cost of the box but I doubt I would have discovered many of these items on my own, plus, shipping is already included in the price. I really believe NOSEJOY has a nose for finding great smelling stuff. This box features lovely curation and I look forward to discovering items that please at least one of my five senses (and sometimes more) and learning about new, undiscovered (by me, at least) brands.
Have you tried NOSEJOY? What do you think of this box?
