Menlo Club, formerly Five Four Club, is a men’s clothing monthly subscription club – sign up, pick a style profile and your sizes, and get clothes every month. The subscription is a $60 flat monthly fee, and traditionally subscribers receive a variable number of items each month, depending on the value of the month’s selections (months with several items usually include a tee-shirt or other lower value item). This subscription ships at the end of the month.
UPDATE: Five Four Club has rebranded and is now called the Menlo Club. The Menlo Club subscriptions may now include Five Four branded clothing, shoes from the New Republic footwear line made in collaboration with Mark McNairy, and the Grand AC athletic and leisure wear line. New Republic Socks 2-Pack. I received two pairs of these socks, one Nolan style in grey and one Alan style in black.
Both are made up of 90% cotton that makes it tremendously soft and breathable, with some synthetics for fit and stretch.
The grey Alan socks are mottled with white and darker grey tones. The leg has vertical ribbing for a bit of texture. They are thicker than a typical dress sock but not as hefty as a wool or hiking sock. and I think it’s a great pair for any casual day, whether you’re doing outdoor activities, going to gym or just lounging at home. Even my wife’s aunt remarked on my snazzy socks this past week!
Meanwhile, the black Alan socks would be great together with any office or formal attire. They have a cool raised diamond texture that covers the entire leg and runs down along the top of the sock to the toe. Like the Nolan, they have a very pleasant medium weight to them and, even without a print, much more texture and personality than a plain dress sock.
Slater Jacket. This jacket is just my style. The design is modern, while the color used is such a classic. Also, the elasticated storm sleeve cuffs makes it more comfortably fit.
The color is a vibrant navy blue. It has an adjustable tab to keep garment closed when unzipped to create an alternate look.
This jacket is 100% made up of polyester fibers that makes it more durable, flexible and resistant to wrinkles and shrinking!
Under the hood is a military inspired ribbed collar that makes this jacket more fashionable, making it look less like a parka and evoking a flight jacket or baseball jacket feel.
Five Four Club, now Menlo Club, is an easy way to expand the wardrobe. You choose your fashion profile, so you get items that fit in with your general fashion sensibility, but you also tend to get items you wouldn’t have thought to seek out. I’m looking forward to the next box because of the changes they’re applying to the subscription!
