teatourist is a UK tea subscription box. They deliver a surprise selection of six loose leaf teas from six different artisan tea companies every month.

The sleek and colourful box fits conveniently through the post box.

I received the Shine & Sparkle selection of champion teas, charmingly adorned with star confetti, which I thought was a nice little touch.

The six teas come in taster-size portions, enough for about 4 cups. Heat-sealed, resealable zip bags ensure the teas stays fresh, too.

Each variety of tea comes with a brewing guide which includes tasting notes, steeping instructions and serving suggestions, as well as a list of ingredients and a bit of info about the supplier on the back of the card.

In addition to the selection of 6 teas, the box includes a Complimentary Brew Buddy. This month, it was a heart-shaped vanilla shorbread infused with caramel and pecan flavoured Rooibos tea by Rachael’s Secret Tea Room. This very tasty shortbread had an excellent texture and warm flavours of pecan and vanilla.

Now, let’s taste some tea!

Himalayan Darjeeling by Pure Leaf is a 100% hand-plucked, second flush Darjeeling sourced at the foot of the Himalayas. This has a lovely delicate floral taste.

Cheshire Breakfast by Cheshire Tea is a blend of Kenyan and Assame luxury black tea with naturally dried safflower petals. This is a really nice cup of breakfast tea, smooth and delicious with a bit of milk and sugar.

Autumn Fire by LEAF Tea Shop is a spiced black tea combining Ceylon tea, cinnamon, orange peel, rose blossoms and almonds. This tea smells wonderfully enticing. There is a fruity sweetness and just enough floral notes to add interest. When served with lots of milk and sugar this makes a sweet and comforting treat.

Jade Tips by Good & Proper Tea is made from leaves organically grown in the Baiyun Mountains. This is fresh and slightly vegetal tasting – a really pure tasting take on green tea.

Ali Mountain Oolong by Golden Tea Leaf Co. is a multi-award winning, 100% hand-harvested Oolong. This has a smooth and sweet, milky taste with the familiar and comforting herbacious aroma of a good oolong. This is really delicious.

Black Cardamom Chai by ICHAI is a 100% natural blend of black tea, cinnamon, black cardamom, green cardamom, star anise and cloves. This is an excellent chai blend with a deep earthy flavour from the cardamom. It is perfect with a little milk and sugar.

I so enjoyed the teatourist box! All six of the teas I sampled were excellent quality and seriously tasty.

The box is a good value too, making about 24 cups of tea each month. The handy steeping instructions indicate that between 1- 2 tsp of leaves are required for each brew, but I think you can easily brew more than 4 cups of tea with the amount of leaves in each packet.

I also really like that the tasting notes, in addition to explaining how much tea to use and how long to steep, tells you when to add milk and offers ideas for food pairings such as cake or toast with marmite.

This is the ideal subscription box for tea lovers looking to sample delicious teas from around the world.
