My box was wrapped in a poly USPS mailer and I could smell a strong herbal scent in my mailbox! There was bubble wrap on the top and bottom of the box.

I found some spots on the tissue paper, but that must have happened before shipping, since everything looked perfectly intact once opened. My box did have a strong tea tree oil scent!

I found eco-friendly shredded paper squiggles inside. The presentation of this box was lovely – blue is one of my favorite colors, so calming.

The raw materials were packaged in glass apothecary bottles with simple and bold labels.

There was a paper listing everything I would find in my box along with DarNaturals Etsy address in case I need more ingredients.

The three largest bottles contained Rose Hydrosol ($9.99), Castile Soap ($8.99), and Jojoba Oil ($9.99). These will be the base items for the cleansers. They have lots of uses and I urge subscribers to read up on them since I am afraid this post will be too long if I point out all of their magnificent uses. I will say that rose hydrosol is the same as rosewater.

The back of the labels listed the ingredients. I’m loving the frosted glass bottles!

The Castor Oil ($2.25) and Vegetable Glycerin ($2.50) bottles each had 1 ounce of product.

I received two smaller bottles of essential oils and a small bottle of Vitamin E, a natural antioxidant that helps keep the cleansers from turning rancid. I received Vitamin ETea Tree Oil ($6.49), and Lavender Oil ($7.99).

I received French Green Clay and Hibiscus Clay Mask. The hibiscus clay mask is a bonus item and wasn’t used in the recipes, so I am going to mix it with some yogurt and try it on my skin.

I found some wooden implements that can be used for stirring and two glass bottles.

One of the bottles had a pump, while the other had a spray nozzle. ($2 each)

There were four recipes included for facial cleansers. Three were for all skin types, one was for oily/acne prone skin. Three of the recipes say to use a pump bottle, and one says to use the spray bottle. So now I have to choose which recipes to make! I’m going to start saving all of my glass bottles as I use products up and make more recipes in the future!

The card listed the steps to take and described how to use the finished product. One of the recipes was adjustable depending on your skin needs. Two things popped out at me: I’m going to have to sterilize the bottles before using, and I don’t own a funnel. I can’t make anything until I go to the store for a small funnel.

I appreciate that Darowan, the owner of DarNaturals, listed info about the main products in each recipe. I also like that each recipe has no more than 5 ingredients!

Here’s everything laid out. I was extremely impressed with how everything was labeled, packaged, and detailed. There was a lot of care and knowledge that went into this box!

Now for the mixing! I put my 14-year-old daughter Karina to the task. This kept her busy for at least a good half hour and she really enjoyed making the cleansers.

We had four recipes and only two containers so I grabbed a couple of glass containers since we wanted to try all the cleansers. For each one, Karina pulled the appropriate ingredients.

The instructions were easy to follow.

I found this funnel at the dollar store. I know they sell smaller ones on Amazon but it was the best we could do at the time.

Our finished products! Um, which is which? I am going to have to find some labels so I can keep them straight.

There was plenty of raw materials left to make even more cleansers – we barely made a dent! We haven’t actually tried them yet but they smell wonderful.

I was so impressed with DarNaturals kit! The ingredients are clean, we made plenty of product, and we can make even more! I love the presentation and the bottles are so cute, glass is definitely the way to go when dealing with essential oils. Karina enjoyed being a chemist for an afternoon and I can’t wait to try my new beauty products. Right now it looks like the facial cleanser kit is the only kit available, but there should be five more in the future. I wonder what they might be? A body care kit with body wash, scrub, and aromatherapy spray? A lotion and lip balm set? I have no idea, I’m just throwing those out there but I’m excited to see where this subscription goes!
