Snack Fever is a monthly subscription box that delivers all your favorite Korean snacks, as well as other hard-to-find Korean treats. Each month, subscribers will get 5 to 12 Korean snacks and treats, depending on their subscription.

Snack Fever boxes are now themed –  October is Halloween! Snack Fever is available in three boxes, the mini box, the original box, and the deluxe box, and subscriptions are $14, $25, and $42, respectively, every month.

This is the Original Box!

DEAL: Save $3 off your first box (Mini, Original, Deluxe). Use coupon code HELLOSUB3. No longer “Straight Outta Koreatown,” SnackFever now ships directly from Korea — that means an even bigger selection of authentic Korean snacks!

Every box includes some Halloween swag — different tiers received different items.

Everything in my SnackFever Original Box!

Snack Fever Stickers: Halloween themed stickers to slap on papers, laptop covers, or wherever.

Halloween Tattoo Sticker: Some cute temporary tattoos. Just rub on using water, and you have a an awesome tat… at least for a while.

Character Point Mask Packs: This clever patch is part decoration and part beauty treatment. We got a giant kiss pattern pair of packs.

You place them anywhere you need a boosts of moisture — hands, face, feet. I attempted to get an out of package photo, but they were so slimy that I gave up on the idea.

Brandy: These worked GREAT on my ankles,  just as shown. They didn’t have any different texture than a sheet mask!

Toyplay Yangdding X Acau: This is a kind of toy in candy egg concept, but deconstructed. The eggplant-shaped outer shell is plastic.

Inside, you get a toy pack and a candy pack.

The toy is one of a collection of boat brick models to build. It includes instructions.

It was actually easier to build using the color photo on the package insert than it was using the black and white instructions!

The candies are chocolate flavored balls. They aren’t really filled, just creamy in the center and finished on the outside with candy wax.

Sour Chewy Lemon Cola Flavor: A chewy sugar stick with the citrusy version of cola that is so popular in the East. It’s funny to see this that the cola and lemon combo is so popular in Asian snacks, since cola candies in the U.S. are usually straight cola or cherry cola.

Super tangy and lemony, it is very similar to Sour Patch Kids consistency.

Milk Caramel Candy: A sweet caramel semi-hard candy.

It has a very creamy caramel flavor. It starts off like a hard candy, but it softens as you suck on it.

Oh Yes Orange: Chocolate iced cake with an orange creme filling.

Much like a Hostess or Little Debbie cake, with similar icing and cake structure.

The chocolate flavor is very nice and dark. The orange creme is very sparse, but it does pack a lot of flavor.

Ice Cream Bar Flavored Lollipop: Lollipops in a shark and swirl variety.

The designs are pretty cool.

The shark one has a fin, eyes, nostrils…

And a row of razor sharp teeth. My son got to these right away, so I can’t vouch for the flavoring.

Crunchy Waffles Milk Melon: These little wafer cookies were fantastic. They are very similar to your typical wafer, but the filling has a very fragrant honeydew melon scent and flavor.

The pack included lots of them, too!

Nuneddine Italian Snack: Little cookies with a crisp, sugary top layer.

They look like little chunks of a brown sugar frosted Pop Tart.

The pastry is very tasty, with a lovely light texture. The topping is sweet and crackly.

Larva Cookie:  These taste better than the name implies.

Every pack comes with a temporary tattoo.

The little cookies all have larvae faces on them. They are very cute, but I don’t know that I would have deemed them larvae without being told, and a tastier sounding creature may have been a better model.

The cookies come in a hermetically sealed bag within the box.

The cookies themselves are a little odd. The flavor is a combination of animal cracker and Cheez-it. It can’t really decide if its a cookie or a cracker.

Our reading larva temp tattoo.

Spicy Chicken Potato Chips: If there is one Korean snack flavor I love above all, it is spicy chicken! These chips don’t disappoint, with a sweet, spicy, and umami flavor combo.

They are pretty hot, but they aren’t outrageous by any standard.

The chips had a really nice texture — just like ordinary potato chips in the U.S.

I am loving the access to more authentic and limited edition flavors in the direct-from-Korea box. Our family, including our 3 year old, is all wild about this box. The move to Korea-based fulfillment has meant a few changes — greater availability of authentic snacks, fewer written extras in the box (no Korean language lesson), and more add-in swag. This month’s selections weren’t at all bizarre (well, not too much), and they were mostly riffs on common Western snacks, with a unique take on flavoring.  This box is always interesting, and it always has some fun snack foods we haven’t seen  – but never terribly junky! Yum!
