The items were tucked into brown paper squiggles and I couldn’t wait to give everything a sniff!
I found a card that announced November’s theme, Cold Weather Comforts. This is my favorite time of year and I love the scents that show up around now – wood smoke, baking spices, and evergreens are some of my favorite smells.
The back side of the card had some announcements, a coupon code, and social media info.
I found a second card that listed each item, some info about the item, the retail price, and where to find more. I was excited to see that 3 of the items, and NOSEJOY themselves, are all from Austin, Texas – just like me!
Everything in my November 2017 NOSEJOY box!
Six Sew Three Sachet ($5) is handmade and filled with balsam fir needles.
The flannel is soft and the scent is so crisp and uplifting, although my daughter said it stank. She also thinks New Mexico smells bad after a rain, while I think it’s one of the best smells on Earth, so what does she know yet?
Saponified olive, palm, and coconut oils are combined with shea butter, peppermint & tea tree oils, and peppermint leaves for an arousing scent that gets me going in the morning. I thought the bar lathered very well and rinsed cleanly away, and the scent lasted only as long as my shower, so I could use a scented oil or lotion afterwards without smelling weird.
Latika Body Essentials Macaron Lip Balm ($4.50) is handmade in small batches here in Austin. This balm is made with beeswax, castor seed & olive oil, and other plant-based oils.
The flavor is amazing – Latika describes it as “a winning combination of spun strawberry sugar, candied tonka bean, and Tahitian vanilla.” It has a lovely scent, spun sugar is right; this is sweet and candy-like, with a fruitiness that I love. Plus, it left my lips very soft!
Illume Copper Rose Mini Talisman Candle ($10) Wow, what a pretty candle! The scent is supposed to be a combo of pink peppercorn, crimson rose, mandarin, and bergamot and is warm and sweet. I detected a hint of woods and ambroxan, which contributes an amber warmth. It is unusual and perfect for fall. I love it!
I also love the copper container and the heftiness of it. This size candle should burn for 25 hours. Illume candles are free from phthalates and provide a clean burn.
Shamarwyn Rose & Peppermint Luxury Body Wash ($10) I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this Austin-based brand before! The gel is scented with essential oils and provided a very nice lather. I used it as a shower gel, but it can also be used as a hand soap, face soap, bubble bath, even shampoo! The scent is mostly rose, with just a hint of peppermint.
NOSEJOY certainly knows how to curate a box! I love fall and fall scents and each item in this box was perfect for the theme, and I enjoyed trying each one. If you’re looking for a luxurious gift for someone this holiday season, I would suggest sending them a gift of this box! I found the products to have a value of around $37.50, which is just over the cost of the subscription. I really believe NOSEJOY has a nose for finding great smelling stuff! This box features lovely curation and I look forward to discovering items that please at least one of my five senses (and sometimes more) and learning about new, undiscovered (by me, at least) brands.
Have you tried NOSEJOY? What do you think of this box?
