Fortune Cookie Soap is a bath & body company that regularly releases themed collections throughout the year, usually focusing on pop culture. I’ve used their products before but what I didn’t know is that they have a quarterly subscription box. The soap box includes small travel/sample sized versions of the products that will be in an upcoming collection. Since the collections sell out very quickly on release day (I know from experience!) this is an awesome way to get a sneak peek at what’s coming.

This is the final quarterly box, as FCS is now focusing on the monthly boxes.

The winter theme is Lord of the Rings… eeeeeeeeeeee! I remember being ready to graduate high school when these movies were first released. so this is a lot of nostalgia for me.

The information card breaks down the items by product as well as offers scent notes.

Evenstar OCD Hand Sanitizer — The Evenstar was the necklace that Arwen gave to Aragorn as a symbol of her love and trust. (Arwen was actually called Evenstar, so it could be a reference to the character herself). The scent is flower petals, ivy, cedarwood, jasmin, and muguet. I had to google that last one — it means lily of the valley.

I Am No Man Perfume Oil — Eowyn was a shieldmaiden of Rohan, but disguises herself as a man to join the fight. “I am no man” is her most recognizable quote from the films! The perfume oil is amber, lilies, sandalwood, and wild strawberries.

My Precious Soap — And of course, who could forget Gollum? My Precious is spiced cranberries, mandarin, patchouli, linen, bergamot, tea leaves, and honey. It’s a great fall scent. Inside the soap itself is two things — a small gold ring (just a large jewelry fastening) and a fortune! This one has a quote from Gimli and Legolas’ competition in The Return of the King.

You Shall Not Pass Tealight — Galdalf held up the line in the Mines of Moria, allowing the rest of the Fellowship to escape while he bravely faced his own fate. The tealight smells amazing, one of my favourite scents for sure. It’s cashmere musk, french pear, tarragon, caramel, smoke, and firewood.

Kingsfoil Cuticle Butter — The Athelas herb is also called Kingsfoil, and it can cure poisons and mend wounds. This is a lovely cuticle butter with lemon, raspberry, mint, moss, and grass.

Second Breakfast Whipped Cream — Did you know Hobbits eat seven meals a day? Second Breakfast sound great to me, any excuse to have more pancakes! Maple butter, tonka bean, spiced eggnog, french toast, with berries and cream. Yum!

Mellon Shampoo Bar — Mellon is Sindarin (one of the Elvish) languages for “friend”. It makes sense that the character of Legolas, with his fabulous blond hair, would inspire a shampoo bar to make your own locks as beautiful. Mirkwood myrrh, neroli, incense from Moria, elderberry, herbal tea, ginger, and fresh morning dew.

Middle Earth Bath Bomb — Forest leaves, silver birch, blue juniper, and citrus.

I’m sad to see the quarterly box close. I loved the Lord of the Rings theme and I might actually pick up some items from the full collection launching November 17!
