Annie’s Hook and Needle Craft Kit is a monthly subscription that sends you a project from design pros at Annie’s. Each month includes step by step instructions for both crochet and knit and the yarn needed to complete your project.
Each month is $19.99 plus shipping, but your first box is discounted to $9.99.
Each kit is pretty standardized and although, not advertised as such by Annie’s, each kit number is usually the same for everyone. In other words, kit one is red and white yarn and scarf patterns, and kit two is this kit with the lavender yarn, etc.
The yarn is a Caron Simply Soft in a pretty lavender color. It is 100% acrylic and you get two 6 oz skeins (enough to make the pattern that is enclosed). The yarn is pleasingly soft and really very nice for an acrylic.
Both the crochet and the knit pattern are for ponchos. I like the look of the crochet one better (good thing since I can crochet and not knit!). I am planning on making this for a Christmas present.
This is the knitted poncho. It’s a bit too spider webby (I totally made that word up) for my taste.
I like that at the top of each pattern, they tell you everything you need.
The crochet pattern had this handy diagram to help put the poncho together.
I like that the Annie’s Hook and Needle Craft Kit includes patterns for knit and crochet. I am mainly a crocheter and sometimes feel a little left out. I also love that they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you don’t like the project that they send, you can just send it back for a refund!
