YumeTwins October 2017 Subscription Box Review + Coupon

Hello Subscription may earn compensation via links in this post. Read the full disclosure

YumeTwins is a monthly Kawaii subscription brought to you by the same people behind TokyoTreat! Each monthly box includes 6-8 kawaii items ranging from plushies, squishies, practical goods, kawaii stationery & more

Everything in this box is always super cute and adorable – all kawaii products from Japan.

There’s no more physical YumeZine/information card printed out, but you can view it as a digital magazine on their website if you’re a subscriber and have the password.

Here’s a peek of the site. When we first got this box a few days ago it was password protected, but now it’s protected for November, and available for everyone.

There’s still a photo contest this month, but you have to access the zine online for the mechanics and prizes.

Here are some of the changes – along with a price increase – for YumeTwins 3.0.

Our main focus is your experience being part of our family. We make sure to read all comments sent to us and we enjoy talking to you on social media! We use those social media comments, surveys, and e-mails we receive in our weekly quality control meetings to ensure we are curating merchandise that fits everyone’s preferences. Based on those comments and surveys, in addition to the monthly plushies, we decided to include more practical goods, monthly kawaii stationary, and monthly kawaii squishies. So, we are excited to say that we will be making the following changes:

  • Increasing the items per box from 5 to 6 ~ 8 items per box! More kawaii-ness per box!
  • Now we will be able to include a larger variety of daily practical goods, such as cleaning goods and kitchenware. For example, character lint brushes, coasters, pillow covers, wristbands, and mini tote bags.
  • We will also be able to add a larger variety of characters included in our kawaii box! For example, anime goods and exclusive seasonal merchandise like Cardcaptor Sakura and Halloween Hello Kitty squishies, Japanese local mascots like Kumamon, and the latest characters like Sanrio’s Marumofubiyori!! Logos
  • The booklet is going to be online so that it is more interactive, easier to access at any time, and easier for our YumeTwins family members to provide feedback to us.

And some details about the price changes:

Current members will have grandfathered prices until the end of this year.

Everything in the October 2017 YumeTwins Box!

My Melody Memo Pad – Sanrio stuff makes me swoon! This pink My Melody memo pad reminds me of my stationery collection back in the day. I can use this to leave cute notes everywhere.

It’s pink and so kawaii. Now this makes me think whether to use it or just save it. Do you have this problem? We say use it!

Kawaii “Higemanju” Cat Gamaguchi Pouch. We got this annoyed-looking black Neko! This cat looked really grumpy though I can’t help but squeeze it! Subscribers received one of 5 variations.

This kitty purse is really soft and squishy.

Even though he is grumpy, perhaps this purse will make me lucky since cats are considered lucky charms!

Hello Kitty Halloween Donut Squishy -This is the scariest Hello Kitty ever! She has that nice soothing squishiness of any squishy but a somewhat terrifying demeanor. Some subscribers received other Donuts while others got Snoopy/Woodstock Bread squishies. None were as terrifying as this one.

Though when you look at the back, everything seems so normal. I love the purple shade!

Sumikko Gurashi Lanyard – This lanyard is a real beauty! It’s perfect for carrying a work badge & office keys on the way to grab lunch.

Ths lanyard is peach/light orange in color and full of Sumikko characters.

The characters looks busy doing everyday activities, eating, bathing, hanging out drinking.
Some subscribers received a Rilakkuma Lanyard.

Round Animal Kawaii Plushies – I probably can start a collection of cat plushies with the addition of this brown Neko! Subscribers received either a cat, a dog, a hedgehog, a honey bee, or a lady bug. I love the round shape, it reminds me of Squishables. (And OMG if Squishables had a subscription it would be insane but I’d totally do it).

He looks a bit like Garfield with his stripes at the back and tail. Less orange, but nice and lasagna-laden.

Cardcaptor Sakura Pillow Case – This really made me squeal after seeing it! Sakura looks so adorable on this one! This is one of 3 possible designs.

I can’t wait to change my pillow case and use this one! The back features a nice Cardcaptor pattern, too.

It comes with a care/instruction card but it’s in Japanese. The illustrations made it understandable somehow.

Oh, there’s Kero-chan too!

It fits my medium-size pillow.

Now, I’m ready for my naps! We were able to follow the instructions to provide a distinctly un-American fold to the pillow case, which is a good thing, because it’s satiny and a little slippery, so this helps keep the pillow in place.

This month’s box is full of cute and girly stuff that’s totally kawaii. My favorites this month are the Card Captor Sakura pillow case and the great attention to cats for October.

I’m not sure exactly about YumeTwins 3.0 – it’s not measurably different than past months, but I like the attention to quality and don’t mind an online-only info card, as long as I can still access info and find out more about the items in the box. I’m not sure I’m feeling the price increase – I think I may have enjoyed the last month’s box more, which I thought was more practical. I’m reserving judgment for now – the first month after a price increase that hasn’t happened yet for most subscribers isn’t really the month to judge.

What do you think of YumeTwins this month?
