Universal Yums is a monthly international snack subscription box. Every month you’ll take a trip to a new country and munch on brand new exciting snacks. There are two sizes of box, the Yum ($13) and the Yum Yum ($25). This is the Yum Yum box, and it’s a fun subscription that we get a kick out of each and every month.

This month the treats were from Pakistan!

These boxes are always so full and they send such an assortment of goodies to try out. I have them all opened up here but the smaller candies all come in a sealed plastic bag to keep them from floating all around and we got a great bonus item this month that you can see on the right.

We have the larger format information book again this month.

This month’s introductory note talks about how diverse Pakistan is as a whole country.

The information book has notes about all of the items and ingredients for them. Check out the larger font and all the fun information and story about each item.

I’m really enjoying these new information booklets with the larger pictures and font.

Chili Mili Gummies – I had to grab these from my son. While he does like hot things, I’m not sure these are for him. They start hot and then it lingers on for awhile.

Sonnet Chocolate Bar – Did you know that Pakistan only has 2 months of winter? I had no clue. With that, chocolate melts easily and this bar is made to withstand higher temperatures. I couldn’t taste a difference between this and other chocolates so that is a good sign.

Nonita Orange Wafers – I’m always a fan of wafer cookies and while I don’t buy them regularly, I’m never disappointed when they come in these boxes.

Zeera Cookies – Uhm, not my favorite cookie. It wasn’t horrible, just not chocolate chip by any means.

Chillz Chapata Potato – I was excited to see this since I actually like potato sticks and haven’t had them in forever. These were good but a bit peppery for my taste. The kids finished them off with no problems though.

Milk Toffee Chews – This is a simple caramel chew with a sweet milk filling and I’m pretty sure Universal Yums didn’t send enough of them. They were delicious.

Kurlees Mirch Masala Chips – Another tasty bag of chips this month.

Charms Blackcurrant Candy – This was like a tootsie roll that had a fruity flavor. Not bad, but not one I would go back for more of.

Kurleez Ketchup Chips – I immediately knew who was going to have these. My son even has a shirt that says “I put Ketchup on my Ketchup!” Let’s just say he loved them and asked if I could buy more of them.

Soan Papdi – This one lost me when it says that it has a floral taste and dissolves instantly. Just not something I want to try.

Rite Lemon Cookies – Who doesn’t love trying all the Oreo flavors when they come out? We have pretty much tried them all and these are a knock-off but utterly delectable. This is by far my favorite thing in the whole box. I ate a pack and gave the other pack to one of my neighbor’s girls who downed it so fast and asked if there was more.

Juicers Lychee Candy – My son says this was good. He and the neighbors all took one and went to town. They liked the juicy filling.

Nimco Mix – This was interesting and makes me wonder if it is like Pakistan’s trail mix. It was easy to eat and could be done in handfuls if we had more.

Universal Yums sent a fun box for us this month. My son who isn’t normally as adventurous when it comes to these boxes was all over the items this month. Once he did the ketchup chips he wanted to keep going. I’ve never thought much about Pakistan but with these delectable snacks I might need to look into it more. They have snacks I can really get into.

The back of the information booklet has a clue for the next country. Clue: Do you like Chocolate? Waffles? How about fries? Then joining us next month would be very, very wise! You might know this place best for its tiny statue of a boy. But soon the association will be tastebuds jumping for joy!

Where do you think we are going? Next month we are going to get a taste of Yums from Belguim!

Most of the things in this box were just ok. I liked the black currant candies and the caramel ones best, I think. Not a huge fan of ketchup, so the chips weren’t ones I’d go back to. The Soan Papdi is interesting, but the one that was in the India Try the World box a while back was better. It’s pretty amazing how it was traditionally made – look it up on You Tube sometime. I found the pistachio flavor stronger than the floral notes.
