Send Me Swooning costs $36.99 a month with a $7.95 shipping charge.

It’s the last month of my six month subscription that I purchased during the Cratejoy Mother’s Day Flash Sale. I wonder what will be in my the October box?

The October theme is ‘Super Heroes – Happy Halloween.’ It has aroused my curiosity.

Here are the items in the October Box. It has a romantic Halloween theme to it which makes me happy. I’m not a spooky kind of Halloween girl.

We are moving beyond romance territory and heading into steamy territory. The October Romance Novel is Misadventures 3: Misadventures With a SuperHero by Angel Payne (Published Date October 10, 2017, $13.51 on Amazon) and comes with an explicit sex warning in the curator letter and is marked Mature Audience on the back cover. Amazon describes it as

Working the night shift at a five-star hotel in downtown Los Angeles, I get my fair share of weirdos. But none of them prepared me for the night I met Bolt. He saved my life.

Now, he’s my super hero―the stud I’m yearning to thank in more creative ways than a damn kiss on the cheek. Too bad he’s actually Reece Richards, my full-on hunk of a real-life boss.

He’s got some commitment issues thanks to his evil ex and global empire―and from having to save the city from a maniac out to destroy everything he loves.

But there’s something that just may interfere with all those plans. My heart.

I scanned through the book because it was too explicit for me. There’s passion, romance, and a superhero! It is the first romance novel that I have received that is written from two different view points. The chapters alternate between Reece, our Superhero, and Emma. I would have enjoyed that except I am not a mature audience reader. I do see why the book rates well on Amazon and GoodReads.

J, age 9, is using his superhero powers to protect me from the evil spiders while wearing the sunglasses.

The sunglasses are a fun bonus. Everyone loves the brilliant blue color. The sunglasses offer UV 400 protection.

It also ties in with the book!

We are going to keep it steamy as we move on to The Sons of Gregor MacLeod: Highland Promise by Alyson McLayne (October 3, 2017 $7.99 MSRP, $6.47 Amazon.) Amazon describes the historical romance as

When forced to choose between duty and honor…
Darach MacKenzie vowed never again to let a woman near his heart after his betrothed betrayed him. It sparked an intense feud between his clan and the Frasers. With all-out war on the wind, Darach can’t be distracted―not even by a sweet and charming lass who desperately needs his help.

This Highland Laird will find a way to have both
When Darach rescued Caitlin MacInnes from the clutches of vile Laird Fraser, she vowed to never let men or misery rule her life again. With Darach and the MacKenzie clan, Caitlin finally feels safe. But when Laird Fraser shows up to claim what’s rightfully his, or go to war, Darach will have to use all his brawn and brains to protect Caitlin―even if it means losing his heart.

It appears Darach has plenty of brawn to protect Caitlin.

The charming SockSmith Love You Boo Socks ($8.00) are the ideal socks to wear while reading romance novels! The socks are 63% cotton, 34% nylon, 3% spandex.

The socks are designed by in-house artists in California bringing a West Coast viewpoint to the sock world. Their historical sock line is sold in museums near me.

All types of love are celebrated.

The boys gobbled the McStevens Zombie Bites Crunchy Chocolate Eyeballs (2.4 oz, $5.95 MSRP, on sale $3.95).  Chocolate is always welcomed in this house.

The family will be enjoying the McSteven’s Halloween Colorful Orange Hot Chocolate and the McStevens Candy Corn Cocoa (appx $1.79 ea, $3.58 total) when warming up after trick or treating on Halloween. It’s a wonderful inclusion.

The October Send Me Swooning Box was hot and steamy with books and treats. It’s their best curation that I have received even though the books were not to my taste. I loved the light-hearted, romantic Halloween theme and how the bonus sunglasses goes with the featured novel. It’s a great box for romantic book lovers.
