  • No artificial flavoring, coloring, or MSG
  • No trans fats and hydrogenated oils
  • No high fructose corn syrup
  • Snacks are natural, organic or gluten-free

FYI, you can see our reviews of all 3 varieties of Love With Food boxes here.

Love with Food’s theme for October was Don’t Look Back. There was info on how you can win a special box when you share pictures on social media and it also discussed how you can redeem your rewards points for snacks. If you want to know more about the snacks in your box then you can go to the website and see which snacks are gluten-free, kosher, vegan, etc. You can find this month’s info here.

There were several handouts this month with info on some of the products and even a couple of coupons and discount codes.

Everything in my box! I love to grab a snack from the box and stick it in my tote without a second thought. No Ziplocs needed and I don’t have to worry about change for the vending machine.

Skinny Dipped Dark Chocolate Cocoa Almonds are covered in a little dark chocolate, although it was a thin coating, not like an M&M. It had a salty touch and was pretty tasty, although there weren’t very many almonds in this little pouch.

I wouldn’t normally eat licorice of any kind but since this one is from Australia I figured, what the heck? Darrell Lea Strawberry Soft Eating Licorice tasted like a gummy fruit snack, only chewier. Unreal Dark Chocolate Almond Butter filling has a dry consistency but it tastes great and the chocolate is smooth and delicious.

Yum, I love grabbing a granola bar, it’s easy to eat while I’m on my feet at work. I regularly buy Kashi but this was the first time I have tried Chocolate Almond Sea Salt. Oats, chia seeds, almonds, and chocolate chunks provide a sweet, chewy treat with 3 grams of fiber. Nogii Protein D’Lites Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt tasted like a chocolatey, salty, sweet candy bar. It didn’t have that weird texture that some protein bars have, they were just yummy.

As far as snacks go, I wouldn’t really snack on marshmallows. I think of them as something to be used to make s’mores, fudge, or Rice Crispy Treats. Smash Mallow Cinnamon Churro are marshmallows with even more sugar sprinkled on the outside.

They were soft and chewy on the inside, and crispy thanks to the sugar on the outside. The flavor was ok, but I bet these would make the perfect topping for a Mexican hot chocolate.

Nature’s Bandits Blueberry Apple Veggie Fruit Stix were better than gummy candies and were made with fruit and veggie puree. Halfpops Butter & Sea Salt are just that – half-popped kernels of popcorn with butter and salt flavoring. I think I would prefer fully popped popcorn but if you are a fan of corn nuts this is kind of similar.

Country Archer Hickory Smoke Turkey Jerky My daughter Karina loves jerky and really enjoyed this one, while I enjoyed the fact that the ingredients were all-natural. The texture was extremely chewy and I ended up spitting it out but the flavor was smokey and a touch sweet.

Door County Jalapeno Potato Chips were perfect for throwing in my lunch bag, and Karina was able to take one to school too. She really liked the flavor and said they weren’t too hot. I thought the texture was hearty and crunchy, but the flavor was a bit too sweet. Now that I think about it, they sort of tasted like BBQ flavor, which is Karina’s favorite. No wonder she liked them!

I seem to have misplaced Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle in Dark Chocolate Sea Salt which is too bad because I love these crispy squares that remind me of the edges of a pan of brownies. Little chocolate chips dot the top and they have a touch of sea salt, which is in everything nowadays.

I received two containers of ThinkThin Protein & High Fiber Hot Oatmeal – Madagascar Vanilla with Almonds & Pecans and Honey Peanut Butter both have 5 grams of fiber and are made with red quinoa, rolled & steel cut oats, and dried cane syrup for sweetness. These will come in handy on a cold morning, and all I have to do is add water, microwave, and eat!

I liked the assortment of snacks sent in this month’s Love with Food! I love chocolate and it was in here several times, along with nutty items and even breakfast cereals. I appreciate the fact that Love with Food sends items that can be enjoyed by everyone, including young children. If you review your items for points and have an annual subscription it brings down the cost of the box, plus the coupon codes add to the value. Of course, you can always buy the items individually or in bulk but I prefer the convenience of having a variety of snacks to choose from. Love With Food donates meals to charity with each box purchased.
