Covet Crate is a bimonthly women’s subscription box geared towards professional women, sending items that a busy and stylish woman will actually use and appreciate! Every other month you will receive carefully curated items geared toward the professional woman’s lifestyle to help empower, motivate, inspire, and encourage you. There are two versions of this box – the Girl Boss box or the Lady Boss box.

Lady Boss Box ($94.95): The Lady Boss has experience in her industry. She is at the top of her game and is looked up to by her peers. Professional and beautiful items make her feel in control of life and work.

Girl Boss ($54.95): A Girl Boss has a fresh perspective on her industry. She takes her career seriously without being too serious. Fun colors and cute patterns inspire her to grow and succeed in her career.

It’s as though I am unwrapping a gift!

DEAL: You can save 15% on the first month of any month-to-month subscription (Girl Boss or Lady Boss) with coupon code HELLOSUBSCRIPTION15.

The box comes with a mini magazine with a feature on a woman that changed the world. I was thinking of J.K. Rowling the other day when I came across the Harry Potter Illustrated Editions at Costco.

The table of contents makes it easy to find information on the items. The September theme is ‘Be Persistent.’

The booklet contains information on the brands, items, prices, and websites.

Here are the items in the September Covet Crate Box. This review is for the Lady Boss Box.

The following items are included in the Girl & Lady Boss Crates.

The Turquoise Lady Boss Leatherette Clutch Wallet ($34.00 Covet Crate, was $14.98 wholesale now $4.98 wholesale 25 piece min) is a promotional wallet from Gemline. It has a hand strap on the front. It is larger than the average sized wallet and can carry the essentials including a phone.

It measures 7″ x 4.25″ x 1.25″ and is large enough to hold essentials including a phone. A checkbook can fit in the back pocket.

The leatherette clutch is free of PVC and came with a gift box.

There is a spot for credit cards and change. My sister loved the adorable clutch and felt I was crazy for not liking it.

The Bubbles and Books Monlight & Roses Scrub ($6.00) has a sensual pure rose scent, not a rose geranium scent. The scrub contains sea salt, ground oatmeal, and rose petals. I do believe it is a private label soap because the same soap and description can be found at multiple retailers bearing the name of that retailer. Bubbles and Books is also a subscription box company! Check out Deb’s September Review for more information.

It’s relief for your feet! The Made in the USA Sole Serum (.5 oz, $19.99) contains 4% lidocaine, a painkiller,  which can be applied up to four times a day. The essential oil blend of tea tree oil, peppermint oil, and lavender oil gives it a pleasant scent while applying the lotion. The purse-size bottle can be easily kept in a desk drawer for those painful days. It worked on my arch although it gave it a little tingle. I’ll be carrying this in my purse when wearing heels.

Make Your Idea Matter by Bernadette Jiwa ($6.99) is an informative book about branded storytelling. It felt better suited for those starting out in their professional life. I would have preferred her newest book Hunch: Turn Your Everyday Insights Into the Next Big Thing. I did smile that J.K. Rowling, featured women of the month, was mentioned on page 41.

Make Your Idea Matter is a call to action for entrepreneurs, emerging brands and anyone with a great idea, who knows that to stand out in today’s noisy world they need to tell a better story.

It is full of bite-sized business and brand storytelling ideas originally sparked on Bernadette Jiwa’s award-winning business blog TheStoryofTelling.com.

Use this book as both inspiration and guide to help you tell the best stories you can tell about your business, your ideas and the work that matters to you.

You don’t have to start on page one and work your way through, or even read it from front to back. Each topic stands on its own so dip in and out. Reawaken a thought or an idea you’ve already had. Spark new ones. Discover different ways of thinking about your business, what you do and how you tell your story. Then go make your idea matter.

The Made in the USA ” 2 ” Felt Heart Shaped Bookmark by Jennifer Lesley Designs ($3.00) is made from 100% merino wool. The front is neon pink although it looks red in the picture.

The back heart is a mustard color. It is an adorable way to mark your spot in a book. I also discovered that my kitties want to play with it.

I’ve been searching for this print all over my house! I initially received the 8″ x 10″ Bookshelves Art Print by Belle Adele Co ($12.00) in the February Cozy Reader Subscription Box and misplaced it. I will be hanging the replacement print by my bookshelves after repainting our family room. The original watercolor is hand painted, scanned at the highest quality level, and then printed on artist-grade cardstock. It was packaged with a board and inside a plastic sleeve.

I’m glad that we received a second item from Belle Adele Co. The Blue Flower Notebook with Gold Foil ($6.00 sold out, other notebooks on sale $2.50) is a beautiful 5″ x 7″ 48 page lined notebook. The cover features original artwork with high-quality gold-foil.

The following items are included in Lady Boss Crate only.

The “Lady Boss” Satin Chrome Pen ($15.00) is a satin chrome twist action ball point pen. The line pattern on the lower barrel provides a bit of grip.

It has a nice weight to it. It is also similar to promotional pens that I have received at conferences and also looked at to promote our small business.

The leatherette Cell Phone Charm & Detachable Key (Covet Crate price $17.00, $2.39 ea wholesale with 50 min order) can be used with PDAs, phones, purses and more.

It separates into two pieces. The charm can be engraved.

The Beautiful Drawings of Women Adult Coloring Book by Bella Stitt ($9.99) is a way for Lady Bosses to release their stress. Each picture is duplicated to allow you to see how different colors can change the same image.

The drawings are intricate. I do wish that Covet Crate included quality color pencils in place of the pen or keychain.

I have mixed feelings about this box. I loved that women business owners were featured in this box. I do think there’s room for improvement with this subscription. As a “Lady Boss,” I have lots of promotional items from attending conferences and trade shows. I do not need promotional items in a professional woman subscription box. I also cannot be taken seriously in our family business carrying around items branded ‘”Lady Boss.” There is so much potential for this subscription. I would hate to see it become a bunch of promotional “Lady Boss” items.
