Bubbles & Books is a monthly subscription that sends a romance book and items to help you relax in your tub after a long day doing whatever you do. Need a break from the hectic work day? Step inside your bath/spa. Wrangling little ones under your feet? Time for a bit of me-time in the tub. What can you expect from this subscription?
Every box contains at least one romance novel, one artisan-crafted soap, and one other book- or bath-related goody. However, the majority of our boxes contain more than this!
Bubbles & Books is $24 a month plus shipping.

My items were wrapped in blue tissue paper that was sealed with a Bubbles & Books sticker.
Bubbles & Books has 3 genres to choose from: The Bad Boy Box, The Luxe Paranormal Box, and The Swept Away Box, which I am reviewing here!
Everything in my Swept Away Bubbles & Books October box! I received a historical fiction book, a bath bomb, a bar of soap, and a mini bag. I didn’t receive a product info card or any inserts.
Sleepy Kitty Cat Cosmetic Bag ($6.89) is exceedingly adorable, and I love cats!
It even has its own little pompom zipper pull! It’s so fluffy!!!
The inside expands to accommodate pencils, makeup, or whatever you want to carry or store in it. I would say it holds a little more than a typical Ipsy bag.
Aurelia by Anne Osterlund ($6.42) is book one of three in the Aurelia series. Last month’s book was a little too “hot” for me, while this month’s choice is young adult historical fantasy. It was originally published in 2008 and has a 4-star rating on Amazon.
An impressive debut, equal parts commercial appeal and literary prowess.
Princess Aurelia is next in line to rule the kingdom of Tyralt, but she would rather be one of the common folk, free to learn and roam and . . . not marry the next tyrannical prince that comes courting. Naturally, the king wants Aurelia to marry for political power. Aurelia wants to marry for love. And someone in the kingdom wants her . . . dead. Assigned to investigate and protect Aurelia is Robert, the son of the king?s former royal spy and one of Aurelia?s oldest friends. As Aurelia and Robert slowly uncover clues as to who is threatening her, their friendship turns to romance. With everything possible on the line?her life, her kingdom, her heart?Aurelia is forced to take matters into her own hands, no matter the cost.
Bubbles & Books Pumpkin Spice Bath Bomb looks almost identical to the one I found here for $7.
This smells absolutely divine! It’s sweet and warm and spicy, like pumpkin cake with frosting. Yummm! I’m going to keep it around a bit longer as a sort of potpourri before I use it as a foot soak. I’m pretty sure the black things are chocolate jimmies so I will dig those out before placing in the tub.
Bubbles & Books Petal Dance Soap is in a Bubbles and Books wrapper but looks identical to the one found here and available for $7.50.
This soap has “sweet perfume with musky undertones” and real rose petals inside. It is a pretty bar and would be perfect in a guest bathroom, since it could double as an air freshener.
Bubbles & Books is a nice subscription for those who would like to soak their cares away. Just like last month, the book seems low-quality and more like an afterthought. In fact, the book was the lowest value item this month. For the price, I would expect a current release. The soap and bath bomb were perfectly lovely and the makeup bag was cute. I found these items to have a value of around $27.81, which is barely over the price of the box plus shipping. I would love to see some more personalization, maybe a couple of choices could be sent out for subscribers to choose from. So far the books sent have been a miss for me.
What do you think of this month’s box?
