BeadCrate is a monthly subscription box for bead enthusiasts. Every month you’ll receive a curated collection of beads, findings, and other goodies to enhance your beading creations! There are three box sizes – Hobbyist ($7.99), Enthusiast ($15.99), and Collector ($35) [prices don’t include shipping] to choose from. This is the Enthusiast Crate!

The beads always come neatly packaged inside individual well-labelled plastic bags inside a cute organza bag.

We also have a curator’s note explaining the theme. This month’s theme is Smarty Pants! You can share your creation on their social media (Instagram or Facebook, don’t forget to tag them!) for a chance to get a little surprise in next month’s box.

The crate comes with a chart that tells you exactly what you’re getting.

I see tiny little owls!

15x7mm White Full AB Owls. They are so cute! The hole is top to bottom, so they can easily be turned into dangles or charms. They would look lovely on a memory bracelet, on earrings or as a simple cute little pendant on a necklace.

12mm Square Matte Blue Apatite. Gemstones! I love my gemstones! We can’t see it properly on this pictures, but the Apatite is a nice blue-green colour. I’m thinking of turning them into simple dangle earrings.

12x7mm Frosty Morning Leaf Mix. This is a lovely mix of black and white leaf beads. I don’t know yet how to use them, but I really like them!

9x6mm Montana Blue Verticle Hole Tear Drops. Tear Drop beads are always interesting to play with. I like using them as dangle for a tassel made with chains or on earrings. I feel like they add softness to any design.

6x4mm Montana Blue Rice Beads. Nice and fun beads, they are lovely with the topaz coloured flattened ovals (see below).

7x6mm Twilight/Crystal Flattened Ovals. I love love love these beads! I was suppose to make earrings with them, but I got busy and didn’t have time to make this design happen. But I will use them with either copper or antique bronze findings to go all out on the fall theme!

3mm Smoky Topaz Firepolish Beads. They are so pretty and sparkly! They are small enough that they can be added to any desing to add a bit of bling! They mix well with seed beads and big 10mm beads. They are so versatile. I love topaz colour in jewelry, and I had to do something with them. I ended up only using these beads in this month’s design.

Toho 11/0 Transparent Rainbow Olivine. Every month, we get some seed beads and I really enjoy the rainbow effect on them. Even though I didn’t used them in this month’s design, they were a big inspiration as they really reminded me of a forest!

6mm Viridian Firepolish Beads. You can never go wrong with good old faceted rounds! They have just the right amount of sparks, and they are lovely with bead caps and other metal components. The colour is lovely!

Tierracast Pewter Finish Hammertone Rectangle Button. We sometimes get a cute Tierracast button in this box, and I’m always super happy about it! I use them to make wrap bracelet!

Wire Bead Stopper. Working on last month’s design would have been so much better with this bead stopper! I always wanted one (or two), but I can’t find them in my local bead stores, and I always forget to add them to my online orders! Thanks Bead Crate! When you are working on multi-strand project, this is a life saver: just squeeze the end loops to open the links in the coil, put your strands, and release. Now your threads (and the beads on them) are secured and no spilled beads everywhere!

4mm Round Ethereal Mix. I love the colours on these glass beads!

Like last month, I chose to use only one type of beads from this month, that I paired with copper wire to make a fall Tree of Life Pendant. I was inspired to make one by the cute owls, the leaf mix and the green seed beads, even though I ended up not using any of them. I will eventually make earrings with the little owls, I just don’t know yet what design I want to do.

I really enjoyed this month’s BeadCrate box! I actually preferred it to last month, as it wasn’t as heavy on the seed beads! But now that I have a bead stopper, I’ll be able to work on seed bead project without the fear of seeing all of them on the floor! The colours were perfect for the fall, and the little owls and leaves are just soooooo cute! I always get excited when I received my BeadCrate box! I follow them on social media where they post spoilers ahead of shipping, and it’s always fun to try to guess how everything will come together in the box!
