Everything was tucked into black fabric and with the exception of a tear in the plastic of one item, the rest of the items were just fine.

The flip side of the yellow paper listed everything in my Yard Krate along with a little list of instructions to get started.

Everything in my Yard Krate! This box was pretty heavy and packed full and everything looked great and ready to use.

Green it Organic Lawn in a Box Liquid Corn Gluten Fertilizer I couldn’t find this particular item by itself – it comes as part of a set that includes 2 bottles of corn gluten fertilizer and 1 bottle of fish/seaweed fertilizer and costs $39.99 for all 3 items, along with a hose sprayer applicator and pH test strips. The instructions were included on the bottle and the bottle holds enough product to cover 4000 square feet. Corn gluten is a renewable resource and is supposed to fertilize and thicken lawns and keep out weeds.

Nema Globe Nematode Sprayer ($11.99) and Grub Busters Nematodes ($16.99+) I recognize those nasty grubs on the front of the globe – we’ve found them in our lawn and garden before and my dearly departed dachshund loved to eat them as a treat. Just place the packet of nematodes (which are in the globe) into the sprayer and cover the lawn. Water in over the course of 3 days and hopefully those little suckers will eventually die and leave you with green grass and no brown patches, if grubs were causing the patches in the first place. Also, they should help cut down on the bad beetle population in your yard.

Scott’s Woodpecker Suet ($1.98 CAD, about $1.63 USD, but not available in the US) wasn’t listed on the yellow sheet so I am guessing it’s a bonus item. I have never observed a woodpecker in our suburban neighborhood, but maybe the cardinals will get a kick out of it. Unfortunately, I have never owned a suet basket either so I’m not sure how to serve this feast to my feathered friends without attracting hordes of fire ants.

I received 3 Recyclable Paper Yard Waste Bags that are from Canada but I found a similar item here ($1.97 each). These look like extra sturdy grocery store bags on steroids because they are super big. You can stand them up in your yard and put old leaves or lawn clippings inside. We have two compost bins so we don’t have much yard waste but I wonder what the waste collectors and people on our street will think when they see these bags on the curb on trash day, eh?

Wow, I can’t wait to use my new gardening and lawn care products from Yard Krate! My husband will handle most of the work but I am happy to give him an environmentally safe product to apply to the lawn. I rarely have time to go to the home improvement or gardening center so this box will allow me to jump right in and I appreciate the convenience factor and quick delivery!
