TopMunch is an around the world snack subscription box. Each month features different hard-to-find traditional food & snacks, as well as a guide to local music, local attractions, and local language. It’s like traveling the world without leaving the comforts of home. Currently they only ship within the US, but we’re looking forward to them branching out to other locations.

The note card has some interesting info about France and its culture.

There is also a playlist to help magnify the tasting experience. I may have let a few of this month’s treats get a sneak peek at the readers.

Top phrases for a true cultural experience. I love that the phonetic pronunciation is included making it so much easier to learn new phrases. The two years of high school French are all coming back to me and I ‘am loving it! I think this personal detail from my life is going to create a much more fun experience for me and my family.

There is travel information…

And pictures to make your heart yearn to travel!

And notes on the five included snacks. Everything’s very detailed and we appreciate that more than anyone could know.

Brioche Pasquier French Mini Toasts. Delicious crunchy little toasts you can eat with just about anything. Use them for fancy appetizers, like smoked salmon or cheese or black olive tapenades (included in this box!). Personally I loved these with cream cheese and strawberry jam.

St Michel Galettes. Founded in the 1900’s, this French favorite is appreciated for its delicate buttery taste and crispiness. Each galette is imprinted with the figure of St. Michel, I would have noticed if my daughter hadn’t devoured the entire package in one sitting. Butter cookies are one of my favorite treats and I wish I had never shared these with my family.

Delices Du Luberon French Black Olive Tapenade. Traditionally, tapenade is made from small black olives from the region of Provence. I love olives but the super fine olives was a little mushy for my taste and I had a very hard time finishing a toast. My father, on the other hand, devoured the jar with toast and a glass or two of red wine. Top Munch has something for everyone’s taste buds.

St Michel French Mini Madeleine. The Madeleine is a traditional small cake from Commercy and Liverdun, two communes of the Lorraine region in north-eastern France. These are a small sponge cake with a distinctive shell-like shape and are great with your morning coffee or even as a dessert item along with your favorite fruit with a spot of ice cream to top it off. This was the first snack that was completely gone, a crowd favorite. I could eat these all day with coffee and fruit without them growing old too fast.

Carambar Candy Mixed Fruits. They are like long bars of taffy and are beyond delicious. The raspberry one was my favorite, I will be getting more of these and if my family is truly lucky I will share.

Oui Love It Langues de Chat Cookies (Cat’s Tongue). It’s believed these divine cookies came out of a French oven in the 17th century. My only complaint is they were not full cookies and just bits and pieces. I’m not proud to admit this but I did lick the crumbs from the packaging because they were so good.

I LOVE this new feature of the score cards! As you can see it was a family game and we had a blast tasting, scoring and laughing.

August’s TopMunch was a treat! My favorite was the Carambar Candy! This box is a great way to sample treats from around the world that you probably wouldn’t be able to enjoy without visiting the country yourself. If you are a traveling foodie or know one, this would be an awesome gift! It’s also a great way to spice up family time or a game night. SO far this has to be my favorite country only because I have learned about it in history class and language classes not to mention France is the first place to travel to on my bucket list.
