Rockets of Awesome is a quarterly clothing and accessories personal styling subscription box for kids. Each season, you’ll get a box filled with high-quality, stylish and comfy clothes. There’s no styling fee – just pay for what you’d like to keep and return the rest. Free shipping, both ways.
Boxes are available for both boys and girls. In every box you’ll get 8-12 pieces, all from the Rockets of Awesome brand.
When you sign up you’ll answer a quick and easy quiz to help set your style preferences for your child.
The box is filled with awesome clothes to the brim!
The information sheet with the item list and retail price is folded inside a bi-fold booklet.
There is no keep everything/keep a certain number of items discount. I do have to make note of this quarter’s promo – keep 6 (!) items from your box and get 25% off in the shop. That wasn’t an incentive for me to keep items, for sure. I want to see discounts on the items I keep – and no penalty for needing to change sizes. However, I’m happy to see them try out a promotion for keeping items – this is the first time. I might have kept 6 all together from both kids boxes (read the boy’s box review) if it applied over more than one box.
The sheet also comes with a set of instructions on how to return your item(s). Shipping is free both ways!
Everything in my Fall 2017 Rockets of Awesome Girls box!
No stickers this quarter 🙁
Drop Waist Dress ($38) This boxy straight up and down style has a drop waist and a fun pattern.
The back features a trendy (and cheaper to make) exposed zipper.
Cute and comfortable – but really a little old fashioned to my eyes – at least in terms of the cut!
Printed Tunic ($28) Same here with this drop waist tunic, except we weren’t fans at all of the color.
It has a contrast back, another exposed zipper, and a little flounce.
Dot Legging ($18) My daughter does love the Rockets of Awesome leggings – and ones that we purchased last year and that have easily been worn 40 times are still hanging tough! The leggings are A+.
This is a cute outfit if it’s your style – it wasn’t my daughter’s, and it got packed up asap.
Stripe Star Tee ($24) This long sleeve tee had a nice weight and a fun nautical print on the front. It seemed a little more like summer in Maine instead of fall in Pennsylvania to us though.
It wasn’t flattering, plus it was white (our profile says NO WHITE, so why’d it get sent?!), so back it went! Really no skin off my back – this box has a TON of clothes to try on and it’s free both ways. That being said – if we werent’ taking photos for reviews, it’s likely that none of the previous items would have even been tried out.
Rhinestone Star Top ($22) This is so darling, and I wanted it for me – super soft modal with a fun tone on tone rhinestone star pattern.
Star Tulle Skirt ($30) And this flouncey tulle skirt with rose gold stars? LOVE!
She had fun twirling but ultimately didn’t keep these pieces. She’s not crazy about black (is this my child?) and doesn’t wear a lot of skirts because she tends to want to be a bit more playground ready. She was close to asking to keep it, but since she makes good decisions about what to keep, she decided not to (we guide her through the decision process by pointing out what she has in her closet already and what she does and doesn’t wear).
Paris Tee ($22) Also a hit but ultimately not kept – she loved the glitter and the Eiffel Tower (and anything French-themed) but it’s black – and she has a lot of shirts. If we didn’t get so many clothes I think she would have kept this adorable top!
Printed Jogger ($28) I think we all liked the idea of these loungey joggers – they aren’t leggings and have more of a relaxed feel, with cute silver stars and gathered cuffs.
Super comfy! Oh yeah, if you’re wondering about the shoes, they’re Target Cat & Jack. Wish Rockets of Awesome would move into shoes too. They’d be so cute!
Printed Zip Hoodie ($30) We actually received a full lounge suit, but didn’t put them on together – we thought it would be too much. This drawstring-free hoodie has a kangaroo pocket, and a full-zip. She really wanted to keep this one, and since I encourage her to wear layers with cardigans and hoodies, we said yes. She loves pink so it’s more likely to be worn. Win for us1
Glam Cat Tee ($20) Hello glam cat. My daughter is my daughter because she’s equally as obsessed with holo! She just had to have this one.
Unicorn Legging ($20) They might be black, but they’re unicorns. A+ leggings plus a unicorn print? Auto-buy. She’s still wearing last season’s glitter unicorn shirt constantly (it was first day of school worthy, even!).
The zipper has an easy to use pull.
Flip Sequin Tee ($26) MERMAID SHIRT!
This shirt features sequined cherries with YAY and a happy face.
You can push them up and down. And customize them and otherwise soothe your savage inner beast by moving around the sequins.
I’m sure it’s obvious that we kept this rad shirt! She’s in love!
The first few outfits we tried on from this box weren’t really my daughter’s style, but it’s fine, because I spent plenty keeping the items she was in love with. I was a little bummed that they didn’t release a style guide this quarter – I really liked being able to request a few must have items, but then again, I think we scored them in this box. However, I wish there was more color variety (we have more colors requested besides pink!) and fewer colors we’re not into – especially those on our “no” list. We definitely recommend giving it a try – no shipping fees either way, or styling fee!
