Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription – get five makeup, beauty, skincare, and haircare items in a cute bag for $10 a month! It’s the most popular subscription box and a great way to sample new colors and beauty brands.

This month’s bag is a studded black bag with a blue liner.

The theme this month is “Like. A. Boss.” and after taking a peek at my goodies, I wasn’t surprised to see Charlotte Cho, co-founder of Soko Glam (and author of The Little Book of Skin Care) featured on the back of the card!

Everything in my September bag. There are many bag variations every month for ipsy –  log in to your account to check out how-to videos and tips for your products. They’ve also started emailing out product information and tips from their influencers!

Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Powder Cleanser ($7.14) Hanalei’s powder cleanser is based on the concept of restoring your skin to a 5.5 pH level. The little packets are convenient and the resulting mix with water foams nicely! Grapefruit seed oil and papaya enzyme provide the primary power behind this cleanser and leave your skin feeling super smooth!

Manefit Beauty Planner Mask Mugwort Astringent + Pore Care ($2) This sheet mask uses salicylic acid for pore clearing.

Manefit Beauty Planner Mask Lily Whitening + Brightening ($2) This is my fave – for pigmentation and brightening!

Both masks are saturated with essence, smell good, and are fun to use. Hard to see a difference after just one use, but I feel like sheet masks provide positive benefits to my skin (and are relaxing and fun!).

Pixi By Petra Fresh Face Blush in Beach Rose ($9?) This is a full size blush, but the funny thing is, Pixi doesn’t sell blush on its own like this. They only have duo blushes that are packed with a kabuki brush, or a blush palette. I found this blush to be quite dark, and definitely a warm neutral. The pigment certainly is in line with fall seasonal looks. First swatch in swatches photo below.

ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Glossy Lip in ipsy VIP ($6) I feel like I lucked out to score the one of the Ipsy x ColourPop collabs. I wish they’d do this sort of thing more often – subscriber exclusive colors!

This is definitely glossy, and a fun pink, without veering into Barbie territory. I thought it was really flattering and loved the color.

Some subscribers got the Lippie Stix. If you feel you missed out you can buy either.

Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Radiance Primer ($9.75) Photo Finish isn’t a new product, but the radiance version is new to me! It’s swatched in the middle below and it’s definitely glowy. It went great under my foundation, but would also work well mixed with a moisturizer for an easy no-makeup yet finished look.

With about $36 in value, that’s $10 less than last month – but so much better in my opinion, because I didn’t get any low-quality products (see the August Review). I loved getting the ColourPop glossy lip & the Smashbox this month – but really liked getting two Asian beauty curation from Soko Glam! More collabs please, Ipsy!

What did you get in your Ipsy this month?

Very nice blush and gloss! I received the Tarte mascara (lights, camera, lashes), the GELlusion Polish in Virgo, Smashbox Radiance primer, Elizabeth Mott POP! Shadow in Gunmetal, and the Skin Food wash off mask. I liked everything, but the Radiance primer. I feel like it’s just shiny and a bit drying.

The Colourpop lippies were WAY better than the offerings to Boxycharm!!

Did you use the whole packet of the Hanalei powder for 1 wash? It felt like it was really enough for at least 2 washes.
