I received 6 items in my subscription box.
The first item in this month’s box is a cross body purse inspired by The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood. It came in my favorite color… teal!
The strap is adjustable and the interior of the purse is designed after the old library check out cards. It is totally adorable and soft. Have you read The Handmaids Tale?
My next item is an enamel pin created by Lapelyeah. It is perfect for me as I always think I am the boss. LOL! I love reading stories of strong females. I’ll be adding this to my work lanyard.
My next item is going to help me keep my place in the book I received. It is a bookmark inspired by Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy. The picture is a bit blurry but the quote says, “Life isn’t written in the stars. Fate is ours to pen.” Powerful quote. I have always felt we make our on destiny and if we don’t like where life is taking us, just go down a different road.
My next item is sticker to help remind you that “Females are strong as Hell.” this sticker was inspired by that catchy song Unbreakable by Kimmy Schmidt. I think this will be my next tattoo. Females are the strongest of the sexes, I believe. We endure so much and we usually just smile our way through it. As a group, we would make a great army.
I love the shirts from this subscription. They are so soft and they fit great. This month’s shirt is inspired by Star Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi. It is also a story about a strong female character. The quote on the shirt is “I know your soul. Everything else is just an ornament.” So true. Too many times we judge the book by the cover but if we truly read the story the cover no longer matters.
I upgraded my box to include the book! This month’s book is Wicked Like a Wildfire by Lana Popovic. I am just starting the book and so far I like it very much. It’s about twin sisters, magic, and fate. Also when you receive the book you also receive and an autograph from the author. I’ve been collecting them all.
All the women in Iris and Malina’s family have the unique magical ability or “gleam” to manipulate beauty. Iris sees flowers as fractals and turns her kaleidoscope visions into glasswork, while Malina interprets moods as music. But their mother has strict rules to keep their gifts a secret, even in their secluded sea-side town. Iris and Malina are not allowed to share their magic with anyone, and above all, they are forbidden from falling in love.
But when their mother is mysteriously attacked, the sisters will have to unearth the truth behind the quiet lives their mother has built for them. They will discover a wicked curse that haunts their family line—but will they find that the very magic that bonds them together is destined to tear them apart forever?
Well thanks for reading my review. I am off to read more books. Keep reading and adding pages to the story of your life.
Tell me what you thought about this month’s Bookish Box!
