Amoda Tea is a Canadian premium tea subscription. Each month hand-selected teas are sent out, from all over North America and beyond. They source the tea from small companies to support them and help them grow. There are two flavours of box available — the original and low-caffeine. This is a review of the original box. Both cost $20, have free shipping to Canada/US (no international shipping yet), and you can also add on some extra bonuses like a travel set, a teaspoon, or more filters if you are a tea-drinking monster like me. They also have a tasty tea guarantee — if you don’t like a tea in your box, they’ll replace it in your next box!
DEAL: Get 40% off of your first month! Use coupon code HELLO40.
Every month they also send a super cute tea postcard! I send these to my tea-loving friends and my penpals. They also always paper filters in case you’re new to looseleaf tea and don’t have an infuser yet.
The info card has a great layout and everything is easy to find including social media and discount codes!
Everything in my box this month!
Monsoon Black Micro-Batch (Justea) — A black tea from Kenya. This is a very small batch so we’re one of the lucky few who get to taste it! I love a good black tea — when it’s unflavoured I find I just need a hint of honey and a splash of cream.
Blood Orange Oolong (Naked Teas) — I don’t normally drink oolong, but it’s a nice medium caffeine kind of tea. Blood orange is great as a flavour so I’m excited to try this.
Delight (Shuswap Infusions) — A blend of mint and dark chocolate! Rooibos is not caffeinated so this is a great bedtime treat.
Right As Rain (Aromatica) — An herbal tea with lemon, mint, apple, pineapple, and spices like cinnamon and ginger.
Amoda always manages to curate some truly special teas every month. I don’t always love the teas but being able to taste and try a small amount without committing is a really awesome experience. Amoda sells all of their teas on their website, so if you have a craving it’s easy to get your hands on more!
PS… I’ve mentioned in previous reviews that I subscribed to Amoda back when they first launched in 2013. Here’s a blast from the past I found on my Instagram recently! It’s dated January 7, 2013! The packaging may have changed but the care definitely hasn’t!
