TokyoTreat is a Japanese treat box that is shipped directly from Japan. TokyoTreat has three levels of boxes, which seems to be the norm with snack boxes. Shipping is included with the boxes ($14.99 for mini, $24.99 for regular, $34.99 for premium). For their third year, TokyoTreat has revamped their box — it’s bigger in height and width but is shallower than the old box.

The TokyoTreat magazine includes the product information as well as information on Japanese culture, the monthly giveaway, instructions for the DIY kit, and other features.

Most of the popular snack boxes have this sort of tiered system with three levels of size.

Here’s what’s included in the small box!

Crunky Bar — Featuring One Punch Man, this is a cookies and cream flavoured chocolate bar!

Calbee Satsumaimon — Crispy sweet potato slices with a cream cheese flavour. These were very hard and crunchy but delicious.

Hi-Chew Premium — Hi-Chew has a more recent new version of their candy. These have a harder outer shell and a soft inside. I love the grape flavour.

Dagashi Bag — All boxes now include a dagashi bag of five randomly chosen snacks that will always include an umaibo. I got some ramune gummies, curry potato snacks, a ramen snack, a grape gummy, and a sugar rusk umaibo.

The regular box includes all of the above, plus:

Kinako Mochi Crackers — Light and fluffy senbei that are coated in flour, sugar, and cinnamon. The powdery coating melts on your tongue!

Toppu x Chihayafuru Fruit Tart — A stick snack filled with fruit tart flavour.

Jagabee Yuzu Salt — A potato stick snack with citrus yuzu flavour.

Hello Kitty Strawberry Pretzels — Pocky-style snacks with strawberry flavour!

Pokemon Ramune — Melon flavoured ball candy that changes flavours when you eat it!

And finally, the premium box, which includes everything in the small and regular, plus:

Chip Star Wasabi — Wasabi from Japan is different from the wasabi we know in North America, which is more similar to horseradish. Real wasabi is a bit sweeter. Definitely still a nice heat, but a different flavour!

Odangoyasan DIY Kit — This month’s DIY kit has us making dumplings filled with chocolate and strawberry!

Disney Tsum Tsum Flashlight Pen — An adorably cute flashlight and pen with the cute Tsum Tsums on it!

Doraemon Grape Jelly Drink — I love these jelly drinks! They are so fun to drink. The grape flavour is also my favourite. You can also freeze these for a chilly treat. I couldn’t wait that long.

Koume Hello Kitty Ramune Candies — Sour plum and fizzy apple candies! I love the art with Hello Kitty in her summer yukata. So pretty!

This month’s Tokyo Treat was great! I was most excited to see some potato snacks again after the shortage in Hokkaido. Japan does the crunchy snacks so well so we were really spoiled this month with that giant tube of chips and other potato goodies! The character theme was a fun one and it was great to see packaging adorned with cute and well known characters!
