Every month Target launches non-subscription Target Beauty Boxes.  Depending on the contents, they are themed and cost $5-10, and sell out quickly! This box is still available for $7!

August’s box is Hello Routine.

Summer had us all carefree and sun-kissed, but at some point we’ve all got to get back on track. Inside this box, you’ll find a few faves that’ll make the most out of your daily regimen. Try ’em out, and if you love them as much as we do, find the full-size version at Target.com/BeautyBox

The information card gives brief details on each item, and there’s a $3 off $15 coupon too.

The card reminds you that you can find the full-sized version at Target.com/beautybox.

Everything in the box. The August Target Beauty Box was $7.

SpaLife Nourishing Facial Mask ($2.49) This mask was nice and hydrating, but since they chatted about aromatherapy on the back – I wish it had a deep orangey scent – maybe orange vanilla even!

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips ($1.07) Honestly I hadn’t used a Biore strip in quite a while before this one came along.

The gimmick on this one is that it has a cute floral design – but more importantly it will suck your pores clean. It works! I didn’t quite wet my nose enough for it to adhere properly so I sort of peeled it back on each side and dripped water and patted it back down and it worked perfectly.

up & up Facial Wipes ($3.89) Not the most amazing facial wipes I’ve used, but they do the job! I loved that they were fragrance free and non-oily, too.

Herbal Essences Argan Oil Shampoo ($0.62) This paraben-free color-safe shampoo smells great and is supposed to renew your overprocessed hair in 21 days! I sort of wish this came with the conditioner, or even a hair mask (even though it would be way too much for my hair), because it’s great for purchasers to experience the whole system.

Garnier Clearly Brighter Daily Scrub ($1.27) Argan nut lends exfoliating power to this gentle gel cleanser – the fruit acids (AHA) and vitamin C in it help tone and brighten skin! This has a nice smell and isn’t irritating. Loving that big brands are thinking about sustainably sourced ingredients, too!

Dove Clear Finish Dry Spray Deodorant ($5.49) When I first saw this box I was a little meh, because I thought the deodorant was a dry shampoo (which I have aplenty!). However I can never get enough deodorants in a box, including spray.

This non-drying deo was also not stinky, and it was invisible. A total win!

I calculated a value of about $16 for this month’s box – which is over two times the cost. I thought it was pretty good – but not wow. Since I wasn’t crazy about most of the samples, I really only got the deodorant spray, pore strip, and wipes out of the box. It was a small savings, but a savings nonetheless – and I wouldn’t have thought to use that pore strip without the box, and it really does work, so I’m overall happy with it.

I had the same feeling that the box felt a little meh and passed on it. I did click on the link to order Barkbox toys and treats from Target.
